Sorry if it's already been covered (didn't have a chance to read the whole thread), but turn off "auto adjustment".  This lets the scanner make a (poor) guess as to what the colors/white balance should be and it almost always screws the balance up. Besides, that is really easy to adjust post-scanning.  Don't know if your has "backlight correction", then turn that off too. Tends to blow out colors and details. All of that auto crap really just does what you can do with photoshop/gimp/whatever on your own and with more adjustability and control.

Yeah, already axed the Auto Adjust in my last post.  I'll see if I can get those test scans done.

I found the option to use descreen.

I tried to scan a log box PS1 game.  What do you think?  It looks like some of the white areas are streaking to the right of the image. ???

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Looks good to me.   A little noise reduction, adjust the levels, applied the "sharpen edges" filter, and it looks pretty much good to go.  Remember, when you're zoomed in to 300%+, you're gonna see things that simply won't be reproduced by the printer.  The real test is to make some minor adjustments (like I mentioned), print a test, then adjust again as needed.

Spine could be flatter but in this case no matter.

Excelent quality.

Just for kicks, could you take 3 test scans.

One where other settings are same as your scan but DPI is changed to 300.
One where other settings are same as your scan but Unsharp mask is on.
One where other settings are same as your scan but Image adjustment is on.

Just wanting to see if quality could be tweaked just bit better.

But if you can't bother, I understand.

Better late then never.  Here are my scan tests, let me know what you think.

Thank you.

In these images no visible difference (as no moire).

But could you take same scans but of the Kingdom Heart?
That had some moire that maybe fixed with different type of scanning.

Hmm, nice, thank you.

I would actually approve that 300DPI scan after trimming as ready cover(maybe some color adjusting...).

Cool, thanks for the insight.  So pretty much the default settings with descreen on and either 300 dpi or 600 dpi.
