Canon Scanner Settings
Mel:
TDiRunner, if your scanner setting has Descreen can you use it?
Arseen:
Also that compress image option scares me a bit.
TDIRunner:
Your comments got looking at this a little closer. I found some another place with scanner settings which included a descreen option. I ended up running out of time to really look at it, so I will get back to you. Plus the Cardinals are in the post season, so that will hopefully keep me busy for the rest of the month. ;)
Bear78:
Didn't move too far, still in IL.
I messed around with the settings a bit more. Ended up changing the image quality back to medium which made the file size normal again. This is the settings I found to work the best:

Spine could be flatter but in this case no matter.
Excelent quality.
Just for kicks, could you take 3 test scans.
One where other settings are same as your scan but DPI is changed to 300.
One where other settings are same as your scan but Unsharp mask is on.
One where other settings are same as your scan but Image adjustment is on.
Just wanting to see if quality could be tweaked just bit better.
But if you can't bother, I understand.
