Forgot to mention that New Zealland and Australia are getting the system this year as well. Also Snowcone if your reading this I think you need to add New Nintendo 3DS to the list of handhelds as well.

Just as an FYI, not to rub salt in the wounds, but some new "New" 3DS games will NOT be backward compatible with the original 3DS.  Yippie.

Anyway, I'm having one sent over as soon as they launch in JP.  Plan on reverse engineering the faceplates and having our own made  8)

The keyword there is "some"
I may be wrong, but there isn't that much that is different with the "NEW" 3DS besides battery life, I slightly brighter screen, (which IMO isn't really necessary...) and the implementation of the C stick.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Oh ok. I must have missed the better processor.
And the 2 extra shoulder buttons was a derp. Forgot about that.

My question is, (which I have not done the research on yet), is the older games that used the circle pad, compatible with thie new 3DS?

Example: RE Revelations. (One of my favs.)

No idea, but hopefully.
Otherwise they need to make 2 more Circle Pad Pro models... ;)

Yup, that's exactly what I meant.  I believe the new Monster Hunter game is the first which will NOT be compatible with the "old" 3DS systems.

Monster Hunter 4 is compatible with any model 3DS.
The game has already released in Japan (a year ago) for the standard 3DS so it doesn't need the extra bump in ram. I have also already played the demo version of this, on a standard 3DS XL, while i was at conference.

Xenoblade Chronicles is exclusive to "New 3DS"
This is the only game i have heard of that will require the "new 3DS" thus far.

Ah, my mistake.  I knew there was one game thus far. I think there was mention of Monster Hunter within the same article and that's what tripped me up.

Same release date of Monster Hunter 4 as N3DS mentioned in Gamefaqs tripped me.

Well the system launch today in Japan. I'd just hope we get some more information about those cases.
