Another day another gaming convention, this time Retropalooza in Arlington, TX that took place September 12-13. Wanted to share the photos I took cause I know some of you guys don't have conventions like these in your neck of the woods.  This one had a good turnout and was much bigger than last years Retropalooza. Had a lot of fun attending this year. The vendor room was OK not too many good deals but just like any convention I've been to in the past you just have to wait and be patient and haggle as much as possible on the last day. Some of the prices were unfortunately downright outrageous, like this one guy who had a copy of Little Samson and just cause he had the only copy there he was asking like $700 (I took a picture so you can see).  The console setup was pretty cool and the tournaments they had set up were fun to watch. It was nice seeing a bunch of younger kids enjoying some of the more retro games they had displayed. Overall I had a good time and look forward to next years convention.

Next convention I'm attending is the Super Bowl of retro video game conventions: Portland Retro Gaming Expo in Portland, OR. I will be flying out to Oregon and will be sure to take plenty of pictures and even some video so you guys can see whats going on.

My god there's some awesome stuff here. It makes me sad that Australia never sees shit like this, but to me some of these prices look high for the American market. Also how much were they charging for Mother 3 and those other repros? I'm kind of surprised they were there.

The repros were actually decentlyl priced. The lady was charging 35 for all the NES repros and anywhere between 35-55 on the snes repros. Mother 3 was going for 40 which I actually ended up getting

Looks like fun, but I'm not seeing any deals there.  If I want to pay market price, I'll just buy on eBay.  I would still love to go just to see everything.

I noticed a few TCP covers in those pictures. ;)
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

That's too cool, I've always wanted to go to one but unfortunately up here in Detroit they don't have any expos that I'm aware of.  Hell, we only have like one retro game store I know of.

I too prefer eBay cause the expense of traveling and the hassle of having to deal with vendors is kind of annoying. I go to these things just for the atmosphere of being in a place where games are everywhere and almost everyone shares the same interests as you do.

I saw the Game Chasers walking around. I'm pretty sure they're the ones who organize it. I don't really follow their show much but have liked what I've seen. I was more interested in ProJared, PattheNESPunk, Gaming Historian and my personal favorite, Game Sack.
