At the house of Doom there are a lot of computers...
First off, the computer I use most of the time. The only reason I use this computer mostly and not one of the ones that are mine and mine alone, is that this computer has fast[er than the rest of our PCs] internet. Ethernet rules when you can get a connection. Our PCs are so spread out that there's only one ethernet connection in the basement, where most of our computers are. Every other computer in the basement has to live off ~15mbps wifi or no internet.
Specs:
2.8 ghz Pentium 4
1 GB RAM
80GB HDD
Windows XP

Next up is the next best computer, belonging to ME. And ME alone. My kickass uncle just gave this to me at the beginning of the month. This is the first computer that is mine that has any respectable specs. Naturally, the first night I got it I installed Ubuntu Linux on it because Ubuntu can actually run on it, whereas on an older computer the install cd won't load without some sorcery. I LOVE this machine. Only problem is I have to use WiFi. No biggie, but it's slightly less fast than our ethernet connection. However bootup beats our XP beast by a long shot. Also has a wireless mouse. (~3.5 min compared to ~1 min)
~2.2 ghz Pentium 4
~760 MB RAM
~45GB HDD
Ubuntu Linux 8.04

The kickass uncle who gave me that laptop also gave my brother a desktop last year.
Pentium 4 2.8ghz
760 MB RAM
71.8 GB HDD
Windows XP

So far, pretty normal right? Just two desktops and a laptop. Now the fun begins.

While we're on the subject of my kickass uncle, another machine that was originally his.
Intel ? 1.7ghz
512 MB RAM
? HDD
Windows XP

Enough about that uncle. More about laptops. This one was a gift from a friend who no longer needed it. Good while it worked, but then it went into hibernation. Problem is it's more of a coma because we can't get it out of hibernation. There are many possible reasons for this, but who wants to put a bunch of money into a "solution" only to find out it still doesn't work? Not me.

Think you've had enough? Too bad because I have more computers than just this. Couldn't find this one but I did get the specs down a while ago. Yet another laptop...
Pentium
90 MB RAM
4 GB HDD
TinyXP (hack of Windows XP. Blazing fast, even on old machines. I love TinyXP)

The very last laptop. I promise. These were being thrown out at my dad's workplace because they were broken. My dad snagged one. I'm sure I'll find a use for it later. (like a paperweight!) Or at least find the machine later. I can't find this one either! No specs because I couldn't turn it on. It's an Apple. That's about all I know about this laptop.

What, you thought I'd be done now? Hell no. On to old desktops!

This one is a nice machine and I'm gonna revive it soon. (media center? I hope so.) Inherited from an uncle different from the one that gave the laptops and desktop.
Pentium III 700mhz
386 MB RAM
76 GB HDD !!!
In between operating systems right now. Temporarily installed Puppy Linux to find out it's specs to see if it'd be worth my time to revive it.

From the same uncle as above.
AMD Athlon 600mhz
288 MB RAM
13 GB HDD
TinyMe Linux (Out of all of the Linux distributions I've used TinyMe and Ubuntu are the best. TinyMe takes about as long to boot up as my WinXP main desktop, but it doesn't randomly freeze.)

The last of the uncle chronicles! Same uncle as the last two.
Pentium ?
80 MB RAM
1.2 GB HDD
Windows 95

This is another desktop belonging solely to my brother. He got it in ~2001 when he was a contestant on the TV game show Jeopardy! during a kids week.
Pentium 4 2.52 ghz
512 MB RAM
110 GB HDD !!!
Windows XP

Another HP machine, this one with worse specs than the other. Currently doesn't power on, but it was working fine right before that so I think it's just a loose cable. Its large HDD size means this one is gonna get revived soon as well.
AMD Athlon 1.2 ghz
128 MB RAM
~80 GB HDD
TinyXP

I have no fucking idea about the specs of this rig. My brother took it apart last summer and said an important looking cable was just dangling not plugged into anything. Might try to revive it if I have enough time over the summer. Hope it has a large HDD.
Pentium 2
?
?
Windows 2000 Professional

Two more that I REALLY have no idea of their specs. I do remember using them playing games on it in the days of my youth, (like the scent of fresh lemons, you see.***) but hell if I know if they still work. I do know one of them has a 20K(dunno if its Kbit or Kbyte) HDD though!

Can anybody top this? I'm guessing everybody else is normal and has one computer. Snowcone, though, I expect has multiple machines to tinker with and maybe a server or two.
***Anybody who gets this reference wins all.

Just took it apart, unloaded some compressed air into it, reassembled it, and BAM! Works fine now. 8)
I'm feeling so good about this, once I set up filesharing over network, (large HDD means I wanna dump some files off the very filled HDD on this PC) I might go onto some other computer tonight! I'd LOVE to have a network attached storage system to play nice with my modded XBOX.

We have two computers over at my house and that's it. One of them is the (much nicer) living room family computer, and then there's my personal computer in my bedroom.

My bedroom computer is 700Mhz, 128mb RAM, and a 20 gig HDD. Thanks to these wonderful specs I can't really help out around here as much as I'd like to. Using the family computer is out of the question, seeing as how I get griped at if I even touch it, despite the fact that I set up the network and I was the one who helped pick the thing out.

I have 6 PC's in the house .... my gaming PC, a server with 1.6TB's of storage, a laptop and 2 Dual core PC's that the kids use in their bedrooms. All are linked into a 100mb ethernet network and 2 DSL lines for fast internet and file access to the server. I also have a Win98 PC sitting idle in the basement.

I am also looking at installing a MAME PC into the arcade machine I am building at present along with building up a HTPC with Blu-ray for the lounge as I currently have to lug my gaming PC upstairs if I want to watch hi-def movies on the HDTV. Not too bad as it is a Silverstone small form factor PC but it does get annoying at times ....

I also used to have 3 Atari's, 2 Amiga's, 1 Acorn A3000, 1 C64 & a C128D ... all with monitors .... as well at one stage but the wifey kept moaning about the house potentially toppling over with all this stuff so I gave it all to a friend at work. :'(

Still ....with all the room I have now I am building two arcade machines up from scratch. Turning out to be quite a fun project .....

We have the family one, my laptop, one with a busted power supply, one with no HD in, a A500 plus, a C64 that wont boot, and a Speccy 128. On an unrelated note, i dropped a box i was putting in a storage cupboard......right on top of my scanner. I lifted the now broken lid and found the glass in about a million pieces. So thats scanning out at the moment, unless i can find an old one somewhere in the loft. I hate throwing things out... :)

3 PC's at the moment:

My Current:
- CPU - Intel Core2Duo - E8400 @ 3.85GHz
- RAM - 4GB (corsair?)
- HDD1 - 500 GB w/32M Cache (Seagate)
- HDD2 - 250 GB w/32M Cache (Seagate)
- 22" Samsung Monitor
- 2x EVGA 9800 GTX GPU's
[Had to sell a lot of old Anime LE's to pay for it :( but in the end it was worth it]

The other 2 aren't really worth digging up specs on (they were my old pc, built around '99 with some minor upgrades to RAM and HDD's but that's about it) and my Wife's PC build around '03.
