Cigarette Smoke Smell

Blumpkin:

Living in New England this is a very common problem with used games. More often than not carts smell like smoke and are discolored from nicotine stains.

A good wipe down with Goo Gone always gets rid of the smell and most scuff marks. Just avoid getting a bunch on the labels, a light wipe is all it takes.

I pick up a ton of games with cigarrette smell, i usually  just leave them out in the garage a couple days  then i take them apart and wipe everything with alcohol. That,s just something you have to put up with buying used games..

What I've done in the past is wrap the handheld with dryer sheets and then wrap them up with cellophane wrap for a while.

I'd contact the seller so f the smell does not get removed you might be able to get a refund in a week or so it takes to attempt to remove it.

Jeremy1976:

I usually just clean them up real good and let them sit out in the open for a while.  I had read somewhere that plastic and rubber absorbs the smells that surround them.  The smell disappears over time.  I never had good luck with the dryer sheets.
