Wavebird storage

I was wondering if anybody ever created a custom storage for a wavebird controller.
I was thinking about something like a 3 UGC box with some padding. I got a mint one and I wouldn't want to throw it in a bin with various stuff that could scratch it.

Yes! But as compact as possible, and hopefully the same height as a UGC.

Would a wavebird even be able to fit in any sort of box with such small depth and height dimensions, regardless of how thick it is?

It actually fits well (width and height) in a UGC modded for NES cart, just need 3 UGC thick. There is also enough room to fit the receiver in a corner.
