NES-Themed Nintendo 3DS XL

They are releasing this just in time for my birthday......hint, hint.  

It won't include the new 3DS features coming out next year though.  I'm trying to decide if I want to wait for those or not.

It's somewhat unfortunate that the thing that attracts me the most to this product is the packaging. The box seems to be more appealing than the system itself.

I actually think it's pretty ugly. The controller image is on top, which is where the console decal should be. The controller image should be...where the controls are.

I'd suggest waiting for a New 3DS if you can. I have a Zelda 3DS XL and I love it to death, so I can wait to getting to a New 3DS, but I do want one badly.

When it's closed, you can store it with the rest of your NES controllers and it will blend in!

... which is to say, the placement of the design seems a little lazy.
