My First Cover
araden64:
Hey guys, I really needed a Super Thunder Blade cover and there didn't seem to be any done already so I took a shot at it.
I'm not too good with photoshop but I think it came out pretty well. Let me know what you guys think.
I wanted to thank Akrate for the raw scan and Badchad for the template.

If you are looking for site standard then here is my opinion.
I think the main cover needs cleaned up quite a bit. I can see a bunch of moire. Same for the back images.
I'm not sure it's just me, but the Genesis logo looks screwed up.
The "Super Thunder Blade" Should be vectored. Would look a lot better. Plus the T in Thunder on the front has a stray black dot in it.
All in all its a decent cover, just not site standard. Keep working at it and you will get it! ;)

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback, I made the cover more for my own personal use, I just thought I'd share, I would love to get it up to par though.
Quite honestly I didn't even realize how bad the moire on the front and back was. So I just cleaned up the front and back images, how are they now?
And the sega logo I got straight from the template, I didn't edit it, so I think it might just be you. :P
I've never worked with vectors, so I'm not quite sure how to convert the logo to one. I did clean it up a bit though, no stray black dot.
Feedback is appreciated.

That does look a lot better.
What I still see though is the back image of the chopper, to me it almost looks like someone took a picture of a TV screen (the horizontal lines) it even may be like that on the original box. Not sure if you used a scan or not.
What I mean by it would look better if the title was vector, if you look closely you can see it's heavily pixilated. You "can" fix this is photoshop, but it's a lot easier to do in illustrator, which you can get cs2 free from adobe.
Hopefully Arseen will see this and give some better pointers though. :P

That's actually how it is on the box, it looks like a picture. I don't know why.
Here's the scan I used: http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Araden46/TCP/superthunderblade.jpg
It was really faded so I fixed the colors to look more like the actual game.
And I agree about the logo, what I did was use the magic wand to rip it out of the scan, edited the color and resized it.
