I am mainly curious, and can find nothing about this online, I got this copy of Sonic 2 in a lot the othere day, and I am curious about it! was it a pack in like the Sonic 1 not for resale, and why are there to diff versions of the Not for resale Sonic 2, I could not even find a picture of one like this but found plenty that had a small yellow circle saying not for resale! So if any one has any info, I would appreciate it!
on a side not mine the not for resale is a sticker!

If this blog post holds any water, it's a stronger anti-bullshit measure by sega to prevent retailers from separating pack-in games from their systems.

I was actually wondering what makes my copy diff from these more common ones! Like why are there 2 diff versions, on my version, the not for resale thing seems to actually be a sticker!

just to clarify, the Sonic with the white label that's printed on is older. It came with the early model 2 version systems. The one with the sticker came with later model 2 versions systems. It just made it easier and cheaper for the company that way.

Just to top off that note. There was like 4 different versions of the model 2 system, But that really doesn't matter to much unless you are into modding the system.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Most of the newer (<-- used loosely) games that was actually manufactured by Sega are like that. Like sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles used the sticker.

I hated those labels so badly. I worked new and used game retail back then and customers buying used copies would often point out that the copy of Sonic that they were buying is "not for resale". Ugh.

When I was really, really young, I though the name of the Game was "Sonic the Hedgehog Not for Resale."  But I figured it out by Sonic 2. :P
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."
