Universal Game Cases quality control

I have purchased 300 cases over the last few months and had no issues. I purchased from both mediashelving.com and videoshopper which appear to be the same company. The shipment of 200 I received this week were different.  My first 300 were very clear and smooth sleeves. The last batch I just received were more textured and not as clear, almost frosted looking.  I had videoshopper check their inventory and all their current stock were these new ones which don't look as good as the old ones. 

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know of another vendor where I could purchase the clear ones?
Also, the part numbers and boxes are identical from the clear to the non clear batch. It seems their Chinese supplier changed something. These new ones are not very nice looking at all.

It's been noticed. As I've said, the differences have been minor enough that I don't care.

D you agree that they don't look as good though? If so, that is reason enough for them to switch back I would think.

Old clear UGC on left and new textured one on right. Differences are more noticeable in person. Same laser printer used for both covers.

I think they inside out the sleeve.

Mine have always been textured

Pretty sure the smoother sleeves are newer, when I bought my first box of UGCs almost four years ago they had the rougher sleeves.

I just got 2 cases in this week and they are the smooth version. I prefer them over the textured ones.

Dumb question, but what paper do you use?

Standard legal sized copy paper (20lb) I think.

I guess it's just the luck of the draw on these.

Tempius, What day did you place the order and what vendor?
