Xbox Live?

Sorry about the vague title but I was considering renweing my Xbox subscription and I was wondering... what do you people here think of Xbox Live? This isn't a "should I do this?" type of topic, just curious what people think, since it seems a good hunk of the people here are exclusively retro-focused.

You don't. The pay wall for using apps on XBL is gone and has been for sometime. You can use netflix on your Xbox 360 without gold.

Well I guess that's good to know. I gave up on them long before that happened. The interface is about a 100 times better on the WiiU anyway

Honestly... I would not have XBL if it wasn't for the fact that I got 2 years worth of subscription for free.

I have xbox live gold just to play Halo multiplayer. There's not much reason to have it other than online MP since Netflix and youtube are tossed in with the free account now

Ya. I used to play online a lot. So it was worth it to me. but a lot of my friends are switching over to the new systems and I'm just not ready yet. I am stuck in the middle. I don't want to have to pay for it since I don't use it very often anymore. But there is a few games I do like to play online every once and a while. Terraria, Minecraft, Borderlands, and sometimes some other FPS games.

^^^ Free on PSO to play. If I playe games online, then I would buy as many games as possible for the PS3/4 versus Xbox

We are getting HALO Reach on the 16th. AND a 500GB official drive so we can store all of our freebies and not have to delete them to make room for new ones.

As my SONY systems are a PSP, PS Vita, and a PS2, I cannot justify PS+.

Seriously? There are far far MORE games for free on PS Plus and they are leaps and bounds BETTER

They're going to charge $110 for that 500gb drive.. Kind of hard to justify spending so much on an accessory for the older console.

$100 for a 500gb HD is highway robbery!

A 500GB 2.5" HD costs about $50 at any electronics store. Since the PS3 can be easily upgraded by the owner It's a much better buy, and it does not void your warranty!

Looks like Microsoft believes that the cheap plastic casing of their HD is worth as much as the HD itself.

I own both a 360 and a ps3, and dollar for dollar the PS3 is a much better buy. Lately my 360 has been relegated to "media center extender" duties.

LOL have you seen the stupid prices Sony is charging for Vita memory?  Its a joke.  I got mine on a huge sale so it was not that bad but still......
