This actually happened a while ago, but I didn’t think it was worth mentioning until last night. I was at a flea market and walked around for about an hour. After finding nothing, I decided to head home. On my way out, a guy was just arriving to setup his table. He didn’t have much, except some PS1 and PS2 games. Most were disc only. I asked how much and he said EVERYTHING on his table was $0.50 each. I figured “why not?” and bought all of them. Then I saw two slim PS2’s sitting there and I asked “how much?” He said they were also $0.50 each. I figured there was no way in hell that they worked, but I know a local place that buys non-working PS2s for $10. So I spent $10 to get two slim PS2s and 18 games.
Well they sat on my table for about a month as I didn’t expect much out of them. Well last night, just for kicks, I plugged them in and put a disc in. BOTH STARTED RIGHT UP WITH NO PROBLEMS! I Couldn’t believe it. Both are definitely rough and need a good cleaning, but I was able to play games with both of them no problem. How about that for a good deal?
The other weird part is that one of the PS2s must be a later model because the A/C adapter is built in, even though it’s a slim. In other words, the power cord does not have a brick in any part of it just like the original fat model. I never knew they did that. This model also looks a little different than a normal slim. The power and open buttons are also a little bigger.
I don’t’ have pictures, but I’m probably going to try and sell them as I now have a total of six PS2s (all properly working).
• 2 original fat models
• 2 slim black models with external A/C adapters (oddly enough, they each take different A/C adapters)
• 1 slim silver model with external A/C adapter
• 1 slim black model with internal A/C adapter
I'll probably sell one fat, and two of the black slim models and keep the rest. I'll post them in my trade thread. PM me if anyone is interested.
