My Game Stop Story

Id have to return it. That much could get him in trouble. I love free money as much as anyone, but if he was cool I would hate to get him fired or docked for it. Plus, how could you go in there again and see him staring you down the whole time lol.

I once bought one of those Energizer chargers for my PS3 controllers at Wal-Mart.  When I got home, I noticed that it wasn't on my receipt.  I called the store and spoke with the manager.  He said that I did not need to come back since it was their mistake.  I was pretty happy and obviously I continue to shop there.  It was a good call on his part because I spend quite a bit of money there every year.  I understand that my story is different because I'm talking about a $25 item at a much larger store that makes a lot more money, however, the point is that you should at least offer to give the money back.  Since this is a smaller store and we are talking about a larger amount of money, they probably won't let you keep it, but they might cut you some type of deal or discount in the future.  If they give you nothing, at least your conscious will be clear.
Ozzy_98:
yea, but it also was his mistake, a pretty major one.  I wouldn't want him to have it slip past; something that major they get punished for a reason.
But if it's same day I'd be much more apt to go back than if it was say next day, where he hasn't balanced yet.   Don't think though that returning it is the "right" thing to do because you don't want the guy who did it wrong to not get in trouble.  And if you do return it the right way he may just think he dodged that bullet and his management never finds out.
Superchop:
Personally speaking I'd have a guilty conscious and I'd have returned it...but only because when I worked in retail stores I've made the mistake of giving out more money then I should have.  It's a simple mistake that I'm sure many of us who worked retail could relate to.

But typically I feel bad for new emoloyees...if a manager made that mistake then I probably wouldn't feel as bad considering they should know better.

--- Quote from: JakeHC on August 28, 2014, 01:59:23 AM ---So I just recently got a whole bunch of ds/psp/wii games from EB Games, which is game stop in Australia. Anyway I just took back a whole bunch I didn't want, I ordered multiple copies to make sure I got complete games.

Anyway the guy who refunded me stuffed up and ended up giving me an extra $80 dollars because he read the receipt incorrectly. I'm tossing up whether or not to let them know, or just treating myself to some new games.

What would you guys do?

I'd call em and let em know. I wouldn't make a trip back up there before calling. Seeing as its their mistake, I wouldn't go out of my way to fix it, but I would definitely let them know.
