Sticker Removal from Manuals

Any way to remove stickers from game manuals without ruining them?

Put the manual inside a car window (providing it's a hot day)for a few hours, the sticker should peel off or heat up the sticker with a blow drier.

If you live in a smaller area like I do, it's kind of hard to find locally.
But some places to try are lumber yards (Lowes/Mernards) or walmart. Maybe some hobby stores... Otherwise you may have to order it online.

There's a product called Un-du.

It basically is a liquid that temporarily nullifies the adhesive so you can remove stickers/labels/tape/etc. and then it evaporates and the sticker you removed is still usable, and the surface it came from is undamaged.

They have it at Wal-Mart in the crafts section, usually not far from the acrylic paint pens. I've used it before to remove mailing labels from old Nintendo Power issues and it works pretty well. Sometimes it takes a little more than you think and being very slow and patient at removing it if the sticker is really on there good. I imagine it could remove the stickers on manuals pretty well.

OooOOO?  Never heard of this.  I have a thing, any time I see some new chemical cleaner of some sort, if it sounds like it may work, I try it.  Think it's a hold out from my time as a farmer, I was the one who normally used the nastiest chemicals when we needed them.  But I've never heard of this stuff, w00t, new toy.

From the MSDS is contains less than 30% HEPTANE, Heptane is what's used in Bestine; Bestine is 100% heptane. The other listed item is Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, a siloxane.  I can't find shit on what it does.  It's used to make silicone polymers, but I don't think it would work that way with heptane, it may. Might be used as a surfactant, to change how the bestine physically reacts with the paper.

Just a bump, I finally got around to working with un-du.  It seems to work a bit better on stickers than bestine. it seems to me like it evaporates faster too.  So it seems to be better for removing stickers, but not quite as good at removing say, markers.  But I've just now started messing with it, and I'm out of bestine to compare the two, but they're very close in performance.

Too bad a quart of un-du will be about $55 vs $16 for bestine off amazon. So I'm sticking with bestine.
