Game Gear question?

so, at the end is better to leave it with its original lcd or Mod to the DS one.

that's what i understand with both comments
Polygon:
Well, with the DS video he's using the original Game Gear LCD and just using the backlight from a DS to illuminate it. With the DS backlight it is much better, but you still have to deal with the blurred movement because of the slow response time of the original Game Gear LCD. Still, it's better than playing with that terrible CFL backlight. You just have to decide if it's worth your time and money to installed the DS backlight.

Definitely something to think about,  thanks ;D

There's a lot of "non working" game gear that says "red light comes on & screen becomes bright, but sega logo does not appear on screen" others with dim screens

Is that cause by the capacitors, does changing the capacitors will solve the problem?
Lashek:
Most likely, it's entirely due to the capacitors. I bought an $8 Game Gear on EBay and a cap-kit from ClassicGamesRevisited (so that I wouldn't have to hunt them down individually)  and fixed it myself. First time ever soldering as well. The only tough thing to solder on the Game Gear is the audio pcb with how the existing capacitors are mounted. I pulled up a trace and was almost unable to salvage it.
