As the topic states, I was at Officemax having some covers printed off and some of the other patrons noticed the covers I was getting printed off for my collection.  They asked about the covers and I told them of this site and suggested that they check it out for themselves, in fact every time I go to Officemax I always have several people ask me about the covers and I tell them of the site.  I was wondering if it is okay to recommend the site to people that are interested and let them know that they can also participate in the cover creating process.

Before criticizing someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away and have their shoes.

If the people you get here will give us raws and/or make perfect covers then YES please.

If the are useless leachers then tell them to stay fuck away.

I was telling them that the site is always looking for more cover creators and people that can supply raw scans of art for the cover creating process and they all seemed to be interested in doing so.  I actually told them that there are useful guides and templates in helping those with minimal skills with photoshop or other image editing applications.  I believe that anyone can create awesome covers if they put in the time to learn some of the basics and practice with the templates provided.

A signature banner for TCP on other sites would probably go a long way too.

I was at Officemax again today getting a couple more prints and I told some more people about the site and expressed that more cover makers are needed as well as good quality raw scans.  I they said they would check it out and expressed some interest in helping with the covers.  Having a link to the site in a signature on other sites would also be another way to reach out to potential cover makers.

I would also advise not to trump it out to blatantly. After all we are working in a copyright greyzone here and it wouldn't be too cool if we get a Cease and Desist letter....

Although I still take requests and make about 1 or 2 covers a month, I consider myself mostly retired. As of right now, I feel the cover project offers every tool needed for making covers; including basic lessons on how to do so. At this point, it really does boil down to an unwillingness to spend time and learn.

That is true, I would hate to cause something like that because of blurting it out.  I won't advertise it much, but I generally will tell someone if they are genuinely interested in making covers.

I also believe as segamer stated that it comes down to an unwillingness to spend the time and learn.  I am by no means an expert on photoshop nor am I an expert cover maker but I damn sure will keep learning and trying to better myself so I can make those excellent covers.
