Questions about purchasing Famicom/Super Famicom

JonRadical:

Lately I've been really wanting to pick up a Famicom, Disk System, and Super Famicom and I was wondering if anyone here had any tips about the process, any eBay or Amazon sellers they'd had good dealings with, or if there was somewhere else I should be looking? I live in Texas so I would be getting them shipped here.

I will most likely not be looking to acquire any of these until the holiday season but I wanted to go ahead and start doing some research and asking around.

Thanks everyone.

shenske:

I got mine from ebay. After some research I decided to get the Sharp Famicom Twin.

I got it for $100 + $50 shipping (not a bad deal). The Sharp Famicom Twin is a bit easier to work on repair wise. It uses all the same parts as the Famicom and the Disk System so that makes it easy. Just keep in mind if you play your Disk System you will probably wear out the belt so make sure to buy extras.  :)

Arseen:

And if you have US SNES you don't need Super Famicom as it can play SFC games with hyper simple modification.

Look inside the cart slot of your US SNES.
See those 2 tabs inside?
Carefully cut those away and your SNES can now play SFC games!

Thanks guys! I'll be looking into both of those options.
