What are your thoughts on the U.S.pre order bonus and do you think it's fair to separate them up among different retailers?
For those who do not know,

Gamestop Pre-Order: Ocarina of Time Costumes

Amazon Pre-Order: Twilight Princess Costumes

Best Buy Pre-Order: Skyward Sword Costumes

Honestly, I think it sucks. Mostly because Europe and Japan can get all of them with no hassle and then some more stuff (Especially Japan! C'mon, a freaking Chest bundle??)

I want all of them, but I don't want to have to purchase 3 copies of the game. Now, if Club Nintendo were to put them in as something you can purchase with your points, that'd be fine with me. That fact that if you want all 3 DLC's..you have to pre-order them from 3 different retailers just really makes me upset. What are your thoughts??

You get Gannon costumes on club Nintendo.

Are they going to be for sale separately?

No clue on the Gannon ones.

From what ive seen with dynasty warriors, the pre-order bonuses do end up for sale later. But this is nintendo, so it could be very different.

To OP. Im getting Ocarina DLC, but I think Twilight Princess DLC looks the best. I suppose ebay is another option for you. You could always preorder all three and take the gamestop and bestbuy copies back (if the code is on a receipt and not in the box)

The Ganon costumes are available if you enter the Hyrule Warriors Club Nintendo Code in, no real purchase necessary.

the fact that you would have to purchase the codes separately from eBay or something upsets me when all other countries can just get it all with no problem....PLUS A SCARF.

Yeah, the Ganon costume pack is available as a free Club Nintendo reward if you register your copy of Hyrule Warriors before October 23rd.

And to be completely honest, I can't see any reason why the costume packs wouldn't be available for purchase. Seeing as how they did a Nintendo Direct just to show off this game a bit more and covering all those costume packs was part of it, it would make no sense to make them exclusive pre-order bonus only. And they never said that was case either. Just that each retailer would have a specific costume pack as a pre-order bonus. I wouldn't be surprised if their all available for public purchase from the e-shop right from release day.

I know Nintendo's been disappointing some of us as of late, but come on now! Nintendo making each costume set an exclusive pre-order bonus just to get you to buy 3 copies? That's a little ridiculous. And when has anyone done that with costume DLC? Not to mention all the money they would miss out on if they actually did. Probably not something Nintendo is willing to do...

Seems like NOA is starting to jump on the Pre-Order DLC just like everyone else has been doing for years.

I was always worried with Hyrule Warriors and DLC. As much as I love Koei-Tecmo games, they have gone bonkers with DLC and re-releases. They can't even do a proper "Complete Edition" without DLC. For the most part it is only costume packs, but it is ridiculous considering past Dynasty Warriors games had characters with 6 costumes while new Dynasty Warriors typically only have 2 costumes with some having 4 due to simple variations like no mask or hair change.

I will wait and see if Nintendo will reign in KT in with Hyrule Warriors but early signs say no with this preorder costume crap. I will still get the game but will not support the DLC. Hopefully they do something awesome and make the DLC free later on like Konami did with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Best case scenario is that these costumes are just a timed exclusive, and will later be available to download for free. I mean, they are COSTUME packs, after all -- I don't think they affect gameplay in any real way. If they aren't free, they really ought to be dirt cheap. And if this is something Nintendo wants to make money on, I couldn't see them NOT offering all costume packs available for purchase at a later time.

Seeing as I placed my order with Best Buy during the big E3 discount, it looks like I'm getting Skyward Sword costumes (in addition to the Ganondorf costumes being offered by Club Nintendo).
