SSD's do make a difference in PS3 gaming, but it really depends on the game. Anything that uses the HDD will be much faster (obviously). However, they are quite expensive if you want a decent amount of storage. If you go with a non-SSD drive, I recommend staying away from Seagate. They just aren't as reliable as they used to be.
