Unfortunately that seems more common than one would like to believe.

This. For reals.

What a load of bullshit. Training my ass.

I haven't really made much sense out of that either. They had other boxed games. Or I could print one off and bring it to the store. I'll even glue it and everything. The conspiracy theory side of my brain thinks that maybe one of the other managers wanted the game and set it aside and they couldn't tell me that it was already spoken for by an employee when it was out on display. But that's probably just because I've had too much time to think about it. Haha.

Always a possibility but I got the vibe that no one there really cared. Some were even wondering why they were selling a box for $100 in the first place. I might go back up there in a couple days just to follow up. Walk in with cash in hand and see if I can rely on the power of the sale, if it's even still there.
TDIRunner:
That's too bad.  I've only been in a Half Priced Books one time but I was really impressed with their prices even though the selection was small.  I bought Guitar Hero for the DS with the guitar grip, pick and both adapters for $1.  The guy was even knowledgeable enough to warn me that it would only work with my DS if I had one of the original two models. They seem to price their stuff to move.
