For me, with case color, I'm defiantly going black, or colored (I would love red for N64 or Genesis). I would be able to use inlays, but I think it looks a lot better.

Red N64 and/or Gennys..... interesting.  ::) I might want to consider that!

Instead of having the white border all around the box, why not have it just on the bottom, like the NGC on PS2? I was never a big fan of that border. I do like the red and black.
there is also 3 alternatives. 2 with a blue gradient and stars, like the NES system box and accessories, with black or transparent N logo. Also a red and black one, to match the red front banner some games have.

I see where you are going but I'm going to stick with the black with white border.

1. I've already made over 60 covers.
2. The white border is present on virtually all of the TCP spines and it wouldn't be a huge departure from what everyone is used to.
3. I think the starry design would look a bit weird all lined up and would clash with some of the cover artwork. It would look nice for the 80's black covers but odd on the rest.
4. The red and black are a big departure from the NES's 80s/90s advertisements. Its a bit overbearing with such a sharp color, plus the n64 covers use red by default.
5. I think it would be best to not use an extreme amount of color so it fits well with every cover and isn't the focal point of the cover.

I appreciate the input on everything but i'm going to keep it going this way.

About the NES cases: I'm going dark grey cases all the way! I've always wanted black UGCs so this is a no brainer for me. Plus i will keep the theme going with the DS cases being the dark gray color. I'm so ecstatic about getting all of my cases  ;D

Tengen covers.

I really want all these to line up perfectly. Problem is we have had a bunch of different people work on these over the years. Do you guys think I should just "retemplate" all of the Tengen covers? It may be the only way to get them to line up properly (I've already updated my Tengen template to reflect current quality standards).

I'm not entirely certain what you mean, but I'm in favor of anything that involves one very dedicated man doing an entire set to make it uniform, so in my opinion you do what you gotta do man  ;D

Well ,there is only 30 or so Tengen NES games, so it should not be that hard of a task.

I'm not sure if this was already done but i made a quick template with the NES Spine logo that is currently used. I printed and trimmed a sample and it fits perfectly in the case.

I may trim 1/16 from the height. Not sure yet.

If anyone makes changes to this please post it.

are you also making a template?

since you are converting i would rather use a template that you already have things lined up nicely

I do not have the template ready to go yet. Give me a few days or so and I'll set it up for everyone. I want to get all the developer spine logos set before I share it. Consistency!

Everyone keep in mind, I am converting ALL of the games that have covers on the site and the forums. Please no other templates, let's keep everything consistent.

Be patient with me, I assure you it will be worth it! Trust in Shenske  ;D

I'm not sure what to do with the cases, I thought on buying them clear, that way I could have inlays but hearing you guys made me confused and now I don't know which one I one (dark gray or clear)  :P
