how tight is the "snap in"

worried about games like zelda and the paint

The width and height of the snaps will be nice and close (Like the Gameboy cases are) however the thickness will be a tad loose for standard carts. (I think 1MM or less) SO the thicker carts will fit perfectly and all the other carts will fit nice with a slight bit a wiggly room. So carts like Zelda shouldn't scrape because the clips are either barely touching or not at all touching.

I hope this makes sense.

so does this mean that might have enough room to have it stored in the dust sleeve?

IMO There should be enough room to accommodate both types of scenarios, with dust sleeves and without.

I would be in for a ton of these. Not really into modifying my UGCs for NES games. Keep us updated!

So just a quick forward-thinking question. Will your SNES and N64 cases be the same dimensions as the planned NES cases?

I think that has been confirmed to be the case several times in this topic

I will be buying these when they come out. Probably in the ~100 area.

I can't wait for you to do N64 ones also. Since that is what I collect (Will order 300 n64 ones myself)

OK! So hear we go!  ;D

Drawing:

Fancy 3D Rendering  :)

Inside Dimensions

Now! Let us discuss the few minor issues I have addressed with the factory this morning and HOPEFULLY get a reply late tonight.

1.) Booklet clips: The clip in the drawing are 150MM apart. The smaller NES booklets will not be able to reach the second clip. (They are around 133MM in length) I have requested that they move the top clip lower in the case as seen below.

2.) Game cart holding clips: The clips will be 17.6MM in height. They will be able to nicely hold the thickest NES carts out there. And they will keep standard carts secure. And the clips will not scratch carts like Zelda because they a a few MM wiggle room inside the case. I wanted to get ya'll opinion on this. I personally like the idea of the NES standard carts having a little bit of wiggle room... but what do you think?

Thick NES cart:

Standard NES cart:

To be exact, the wiggle room here is 0.9MM.  :)

3.) Last but not least, it appears that the cases width (if facing the cases, so Front/Back covers) is 137.5MM instead if the UGC width of 133.4MM (Or about 1/4 inch)

I have asked if they are able to shave out 4.1MM out of the width.... I'm not sure if they can.... I hope to get the final verdict tonight.

4.) I know this on is really not a big issue, but I'm trying to get them to make the thumb hold conform with the Gameboy case's thumb hold. For some reason they told me they cannot do it due to the structure of this new case, I went back and said I wanted it mainly as a cosmetic. Again, I should have a definite YES/NO answer hopefully tonight.  :)

Oh! And! I decided to go with clear artwork sleeves instead of grainy. (And I'm pretty sure if I wanted, I can order in a low amount of cases with the grainy sleeves...but I'm not there yet  ;)

Wow that's looking great already! I think a minor width change is inconsequential if we're getting cases made especially for NES games.

I don't know enough about the different types of NES carts to know if wiggle room matters or not, so I defer that knowledge to others. The clear sleeve sounds great. I'm still very happy with how fancy it makes my GB cases from you look.

I'm surprised the thumb hold would be an issue - you're essentially asking for what a thick DVD case has:

Though maybe it has to do with the thumb area being split evenly down the middle on the DVD case, while this case is more on the cartridge side?

does that wiggle room mean ill be able to keep my games in a dust sleeve and then toss them into this case?

Also with that width difference will the existing covers need to be modified?
