Is that "shaft" on the back panel supposed to connect with the topmost screw port on the back of the cartridge?

Nah, they sent him a case that holds discs so he could get an idea for the size of the case.

I'm pro non-grainy finish as well, though a grainy finish would better match my older UGCs. I have a bunch I uncase NES games and I simply cannot bear the thoughts of having to modify more UGCs so I will be keeping an eye on this, Shadowfox.

I'm really curious about the interior of the cases. You say NES games will snap in, but I actually prefer to case my games inside of the black game sleeve as well. Not sure if this will be possible if the games snap in.

I think non-grainy would help a lot with readability of back text, so that would be my preference as well.

Can't wait for more updates. I have no preference either way on grainy v. non-grainy.

Comments from a member of rfgeneration " clear sleeves scratch so easily, there's a reason why the UGC sleeves are textured."

Maybe this will have to be taken in consideration,  same happens with Ps and Xbox cases, what you guys think

UGCs scratch just as easily if you throw them around and don't take care of them. One of mine got scratched to hell. UGCs are grainy to hide low quality printed rental store covers, not to reduce scratching.

All modern game and media cases have clear covers to properly display the fancy, vibrant cover art. Our ideal game cases should be the same.

Look at it this way, nobody is looking for grainy cover DVD or DS cases.

I'm kind of torn on the preference on the Grainy or smooth plastic cover. I think I would prefer the smooth cover. I think it would look sharper.

I'd be okay with either grainy or smooth. I'm assuming there may be some price difference between the two... So perhaps whichever one is going to be the most cost effective?

The width and height of the snaps will be nice and close (Like the Gameboy cases are) however the thickness will be a tad loose for standard carts. (I think 1MM or less) SO the thicker carts will fit perfectly and all the other carts will fit nice with a slight bit a wiggly room. So carts like Zelda shouldn't scrape because the clips are either barely touching or not at all touching.

I hope this makes sense.
