Thank you.  This had been keeping me up at night, but I didn't want to ask because I thought everyone would make fun of me. :P

I think it could be fixed by moving the top frame slightly without affecting NES games too much. In fact that might help with the tight grip on NES games currently.

The only downside I see for potentially making these cases also SNES cases is that currently nothing holds the SNES carts in place. But maybe with a little tweaking to the NES frame and clips it's possible?

you can also use the clips on the right to clip SNES games in.Ill take a picture tonight of what i mean

All NES games are about the same size, they have to fit within the system, so they cant be much taller. I think there is one game that is randomly taller, Red Ridding Hood or something. But they all have to fit within the space where you push down.

damnit cant get the images to come through with image tag.  So here at the links
Fixed it - Shenske  :)

ok i finally got some photos to show some of things i meant.

Here is the game/booklet in it.  Fits great. A little tight up top where it can scratch label/case

Here is a closeup to see the tabs better:

Here is the same label side by side on UGC and NES Case. This is why we "might" need to adjust the labels.  I think it will depend on the person.

SNES game fitting into the NES Case

Then here is setting the SNES without the tabs.  Fits right in

So I sent my notes in a PM to shadowbox, but thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here since everyone is discussing.

For the most part I found the same issues everyone else did.  Particularly concerning to me is the clip over the label that could scratch.  Originally I thought that clip could be moved over a bit, but now I'm thinking you could remove it all together to make taking the cart out easier, or move the clip so that it graps the cart the other way - on the side rather than the top.  Of course this might get in the way of the manual clip, but that brings me to my next point...

I think the manual clips should each be moved toward the center.  If this were done there are 2 benefits: 1) the empty space moves away from where you naturally press the case to close it, so less likely to crease the outer sheet. 2) the top clip would be low enough that regular (small) NES manuals could rest on the bottom edge, rather than be suspended in the middle of the case.  As it is now if you drop or lightly bang the case down on a table or something, the manual might slip out of the top clip.  I think having the staple side resting on that bottom edge is the more natural place to put it.

Finally I agree about the seam where the case closes.  Everybody seems to have caught that.  Moving it more center would definitely be helpful.  And as far as closing the case goes, shadowfox have you given any thought to making the opening where the tabs go in nice and big like the UGCs?

That's all for now, but btw the SNES fitting in these too is kind of brilliant.  I have lots of SNES with manuals that are super annoying to store in a UGC right now  ;D
