Monochrome Cover Templates? AKA BUDGET FRIENDLY
(1/1)

*WHOOPS WRONG SECTION! Feel free to move this.**

I obviously love color, but it can be expensive to do color on everything and it's sometimes difficult to get the colors right, etc etc..  However, I was looking in staples and saw some red colored paper that looked pretty close to the Nintendo colors.. I've been working on a Virtual Boy cover set, and I'm already looking at having them printed in color, but thought why not give this a shot?  I have a standard black laser printer..  It took a couple tries, but I think I've got a good template at this point, The next step will be converting the artwork to a "Stamp" in photoshop..

HERE IS A SAMPLE PRINTED ON RED PAPER IN A DVD CASE

MY MONOCHROME TEMPLATE

So that being said.. I wanted to create a couple different monochrome templates for Systems to create some cool looking, but cheap to print covers!  My NES Collection is definitely a prime target.  I was looking at Wiggy's Minamalist template as a jumping off point.  I was thinking I would just desaturate and adjust the contrast/brightness as I went and achieve a readable, clear cover on RED, GREY, and WHITE paper.  Heck, you could pick your paper to your game if you wanted (Gold for Zelda, Yellow for Metroid, etc) Anyone have any interested in Budget friendly cover sets?

I've made some in the past as cheep fill ins, some are color, but just the spine, so I know the name of the game on the shelf. Some simple B&W coves that are on a full sheet of white paper, I have none to show off hand at the moment.

Would love to see this!

I feel like Virtual Boy is perfect for this since they had red and black graphics but I'm skeptical how others will look. So far I like what I'm seeing though.
