So, I'm finally trying to acquire a copy of Little Samson for NES. While looking through completed auction, I came across this sold copy of Little Samsom:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Little-Samson-Nes-Nintendo-Taito-/271447919565?nma=true&si=2TV%252Bh5M7TvraUtH6RD8%252B%252BqVbswQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Picture from Auction

Now, I have a picture of what I thought the Little Samson chipboard looked like:

Now, did the person who paid $590 for the auction show above buy a fake Little Samson? I noticed it was sold out of Mexico. Might copies of Little Samson sold in Mexico have been printed on a different Chipboard? In other words, is there more than one chipboard to look out for?

The only Cart or Chip ID i know of for Little Samson is NES-LT-XXX
And as far as i know, the Cart or Chip ID of NES-5A-XXX is for Sesame Street ABC/123

So the person got scammed as far as i know...

Yeah, looks like a board swap out to me. My copy is exactly the same as the second picture. Not to mention the first board is an MMC1 board and not the MMC3 Little Samson actually runs on as you can see in the second picture.

And seeing as how there's no feedback on the auction, my guess is the buyer was completely refunded.

this is good information.  I am always a little hesitant on getting the games that are of the upper price point

so which is the correct backing for this

Look underneath the "Made in Japan" text ---- looks like it says "Reproduction Label"

I'm pretty sure the cart shell is actually original, but the original board has been swapped out. The label looks too sharp to be a fake, and the label on the back is correct as well. My guess is somewhere down the line, someone must of swapped out the board, kept it for themselves, then tried to sell the cart shell with another board inside in an effort to scam someone.

For sure the label looks excellent, but I have seen these repro Little Samson labels and they look amazingly similar to the originals

I'm almost certain that says "Reproduction Label" :P

Granted this one in question does not have the "NES-LT-USA" in the middle of it like the one from ebay does.

I don't get why people fall for this stuff when it's clearly labeled. ::)
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Thank goodness for the kind label reproducers who put that kind of thing on there at least ... instead of just trying to pass it off as original. :-\
