| To many templates? |

I know that there will be many various point of views to this topic. But I have been thinking of the numbers of templates. Maybe there are to many templates to some of the systems? Let's take the Dreamcast as an exsample. Personaly I like both Lumberjack42s and Shenskes Dreamcast Covers, but in the end we (users) choose the covers with the highest numbers of identical covers, because we want a uniform collection. So my bottom-line of this topic is; why not use just one template on each system? As for the Game Gear there are 3 different type of templates, for the PlayStation 4 and for the Genesis 6. I say choose one for each region and make covers to them only. I know that some will disagree with me :D Just remember that I love you work no matter what 8) |

This is an excellent point to bring up. I too believe that for some systems we have too many templates. I some cases I understand, For example; Sega Genesis and GameGear cartridges were originally shipped using several different cover formats. The red/orange stripe did not become the norm until the Sega CD system came out. But do we really need 5 red/orange templates? Maybe not.. maybe just one will do. But in some other cases, I think we have too many templates. I’m not sure we need 4 SNES templates 2 VirtualBoy or 4 PS1 templates. Or the GAGILION of windows templates. BUT………..This is after all a game art website in which we encourage members to bring out their talents when making a cover. Being that we all contribute on a voluntary basis, we have no right to force people to use a fixed template. (but we can always encourage it :) ) My 2 cents |

You know if you all think this to the end it's propably just because everyone wants his "slice of the cake".... |
