So now i have DKCR3D on the Wii, Retail 3DS (sealed), and the digital version.  I also get to get  another game since I have 2 different accounts.  I donjt own a wii-u but do the codes expire?  if not i may just get a wii-u game and wait to redeem.

DAMIT!
I was redeeming the code, a error happened so it did not download, and now it thinks I have it.
Maybe if I try to get it from the store . .
It crashed.

. . .

Opened back up, its working.
Error, I'll try again later.

Yeah, just keep trying every little bit. I had the same problem but eventually I got trough. It was NES Remix for me.

So much for reaping in exclusive Platinum member prizes this year... "Here you go guys! A bunch of digital downloads for titles we've already released to the public for everyone to enjoy. Some of which most of you may have already purchased to achieve your Platinum status in the first place. Doesn't cost us a damn thing either!"

Super disappointed with Nintendo. I thought the idea of Club Nintendo was to reward dedicated fans with exclusive rewards that couldn't be gotten anywhere else. And it's been getting worse every year but I never thought they'd stoop to this...
I got it.
I feel like the year I skip Club Nintendo is the year good stuff will come back.
Maybe it has to do with Club Nintendo getting more popular and Nintendo having to deal with larger orders to give out.

At least I finally have the game my Gamestop DKCR standee has been advertising to me for the past year.

Yeah, I really didn't have a problem with any of this...except that DKC is around 18,000 blocks.  Damn.  Time for a bigger memory card, it seems.

Sold my Platinum reward on ebay for $15. Getting Wario Land 2 with my Gold account. I was hoping that for something physical or at least maybe a Gamecube game for the Virtual Console.

Guess I gotta go buy a better Platinum reward. I appreciate that Nintendo does these rewards but NOA always seems to drop the ball when it comes to the rewards and promotions. NOJ's regular Club Nintendo rewards destroy our Platinum rewards.

I know I may be shunned for this but this is what made me buy earthbound. Would not have that game or ever play it except for this so I guess silver lining? No interest to buy it on the SNES and so many other VC games I would have gotten first. I agree the main reason I started into Club nintendo (this being my first year) was for the sweet physical rewards and I have a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth after this morning.

Nintendo has been so out of touch these past few years.

I picked up Wario because I owned most of the other stuff. I'm not too disappointed. I already got the Luigi Statue earlier in the year which matches the best club nintendo prize given away. I'm more disappointed on how little stock of things get updated for the coin prizes then the yearly prize. I just want Kid Icarus cards.

Just bumping this let people know that NES Remix is coming to retail in NA. https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/493105908184915968

Glad I sold my reward since the only thing I was interested was NES Remix.

Well, fuck me two times Nintendo!

First they cheese me (and everyone else) by offering lame Digital Downloads for being an Elite Member, and then shortly after announce that one of those games is actually being released in a physical format. Which go figure, NES Remix was the only title of any interest to me.

But now that this is coming out on a disc and I'm most likely going to buy a copy, why the hell did I even download in the first place.

Thanks Nintendo! One step forward, two steps back. That's how I've been feeling with Nintendo as of late...

While I agree it was a bit shady to announce a physical version shortly after offering the free digital options, some people are getting really whiny about Nintendo, as of late. - and I don't mean on this forum, but the internet as a whole.

I'm no Nintendo fanboy (if anything, I qualify as an Xbox fanboy), but Nintendo is really moving past its competition in a lot of ways and i think people are getting spoiled by it.  No one else offers the rewards system Nintendo does.  Sure, Xbox live and PSN have their Gold and Plus accounts, but Nintendo actually rewards you for buying it games.  The other two give you older games for free, but you pay $60 a year for it, and in PSN and Xbox One, if you cancel your membership, those games go away.  I would LOVE if Nintendo gave away physical copies of their games, but that means production costs.  Digital is cheap, and therefore can provide more options.  I, for one, was thrilled to get a free copy of a $40 game.  Digital or not.  People gripe about not being able to get a small plastic mushroom, and I understand some people want TANGIBLE items, but to say Nintendo is slipping is just the anger talking.

I remember them doing the same thing with Ducktales. I'm glad I didn't buy the digital version first

Yeah, I agrre a bit, maybe we are so spoiled because it started out with much better stuff and then there was a decline in quality.

Well, I'm not gonna lie. A lot of us are sounding a little whiney and spoiled over the Club Nintendo thing, but a lot of that has do with the decline in the quality of the rewards as larry mentioned. Which, has also been a pretty fast and steady decline. It's a little hard not to get a little upset when year after year, rewards were generally great rewards, only to suddenly have them basically strip not only the regular rewards, but the Elite and Gold rewards as well to practically nothing in comparison to what we were given in the past. But to defend myself a bit, my loss in faith with Nintendo has been slowly declining long before all this (The NES Remix announcement after I JUST used my Elite prize really doesn't help). Let's face it, we all know Nintendo just hasn't been what they use to be the past few years. Everything seems like slow progress.

For me, a lot of it comes from how Nintendo has handled Super Smash Bros over the past few years (for various reasons). They are trying to get there by finally accepting the (HUGE) competitive scene with the tournaments and such they've been hosting. But it always seems like Nintendo is too busy living in their own special world to truly pay attention to the way things are evolving, or to listen to what it is people really want. Something that would truly benefit them at this time.

Don't get me wrong though. I still love Nintendo, and I'll always continue to support their titles I'm firmly committed to. But I'm not going to pretend that Nintendo hasn't been continuously dropping the ball on us lately.

I remember being glad to get Majora's Mask free last year. That was even for gold iirc. I think Nintendo got the wrong idea when last year people were saying "oh digital games, neat." I don't have a problem with digital games personally; Nintendo doesn't do online DRM so if you back up your games they'll last as long as you can take care of them. The choices are just bad. Replace all of those NES games with GBA ones and offer the big titles like 3D World, Zelda HD,  Mario Kart 8, or Pokemon. It would be a bigger potential loss but it would be a worthwhile thank you for all the user input they're getting.
