*POLL* NES vs SEGA Clamshell

It's a shame that you can't split the difference and do smaller batches of both.....

Either one that you choose to do first, I am grateful for. It's cool that someone with the skill and resources can actually recognizing the need for these case in the first place; and for that I thank you!!!

Yeah honestly, either way I'm buying them.  It's just a question of ~25-50 (I'd only be replacing my cardboard box Genesis games and MAYBE the ones I have in UGCs) vs ~200 (I have no NES games in cases yet) for me.

And to all the people saying there are "Soooo many choices out there for NES"... what?  There's 2: UGCs (which require modifying) and Bitbox (which are vacuum-formed and certain people don't like, Stone Age themselves have acknowledged that).  There's also 2 options for Sega games:  UGCs (which require zero modification for Sega games) and gutting cheap sports games.  Actually there's 3 options for Sega games if you include the tiny hardbox ones you find on eBay, but I'm personally not counting those.

If there's more NES case choices, please enlighten me, because I truly don't know of any others.

The reason we are saying there are less choices for NEW genesis cases are because UGC's do not fit in with your regular genesis collection.  And as a collector, i hate making one cart naked for the sake of another.  Sports games need some loving too. ;D (and in my opinion, the NHL games on the megadrive are some of the best games released on it, period.)

Also, although you dont have to modify a UGC for megadrive games, they are horribly loose in there - i dont consider it a good option for my MD/SMS games at all.

Plus, being in Europe it's difficult to get hold of UGC's - Whilst it was pricey to get the shadowfox GB cases shipped - it wasn't AS pricey as getting UGC's.

So for me, there aren't actually any viable options for getting hold of the 200+ sega cases i need, other than someone making them and selling them.

Yes there is another choice.
Buy the old rental cases and put a slipcover on it like I do. Looks a lot better IMO.

I still say Sega cases need to be made just because I don't want to put them in UGC's.

This is why you and I sheep need to figure out an importing deal. ;) So people in France have a source to get these cases.... without being killed by the shipping cost.
