Some good points have been raised here and it begs another question: If you go with Sega cases, how will they be designed? I know a lot of people say they should be identical to the originals. The problem with that is not all of the originals were the same. And offering different versions of the Sega case will be expensive. I know people will disagree with me, but in my opinion, the Sega cases need to be "universal" enough to hold Master System, Genesis, 32x, and EA games all in the same case.
I don't mind hang tabs because those who don't want them can bend them and break them off. However, it would be nice to know how much more it would cost to add a hang tab and whether or not it would make it more difficult to pack them into shipping boxes. Personally ,I hate those damn hang tabs, but I'm sure as hell not going to break them off my original Sega cases.
