I think one other thing to consider for the NES and future SNES and N64 cases is what is the thickest cartridge? It would be best to confirm that most possible carts and manuals would fit those 3 systems so that Shadowfox doesn't make the NES case, then later has to make the SNES and N64 cases a little different to accommodate those things. Unfortunately this has happened to BitBox, and now their SNES cases are a different size than the NES cases.

Sorry! The NES won by 30% on the votes and had twice as many cases "desired" So I'm going to do it first. (I'm working on a deal to do BOTH at the same time... but we shall see)

Well he made this post. Fingers crossed, that both can be done.

Sounds to me like these NES cases are still un-finalized with all the suggestions that are being thrown out. Would be cool to see the Genesis cases get the green light if the NES cases are still going to need more time. To be honest, I feel like there's a huge amount of potential outside buyers who probably didn't get to see the poll. Not that I don't think the NES cases could win, but exactly how many people outside this forum actually caught wind of it? Anyone know?
Does this mean that nes cases are going ahead of sega clams?  :-[

I believe so (not to speak for Shadowfox) but I believe he said that the NES won the poll.

i think he talk about making nes first but theres a possibility of making them almost at the same time

So.......

What is the final verdict?

Did the NES win or the SEGA?

here it is, there's a possibility

So, to clear things up a tad.

1.) NES cases are going to be first. .___. I know I told a few of you that the SEGA Clamshells were going to be first but the poll really showed me that there is a larger NES group. (Not to mention myself and my site)
2.) I AM still working on the SEGA Clamshell and am STILL trying to get it moving simultaneously with the NES case. It's not stalled yet... it's just not moving forward yet either....
3.) I've been squeezing all my money into the next mould, and the sales with the Gameboy cases are helping fill up the needed mould cost, I think once this next mould comes out I should be moving enough product to launch the next mould (SEGA, if it don't come simultaneously twice as fast) I'm really in the "All-or-Nothing" phase with these cases. I have NOT re-cooped my mould cost yet, instead, I have been pouring it all to the next mould...including any extra money for my day job. I'm on a mission, and at this time I'm 100% focused on banging these cases out.

;D Still no drawings.... the down payment for the NES mould will be givin to the factory Monday so we should start to see more movement with my updates on em!  ;)

Once you make the SEGA ones make sure to post on segaage.com and sega-16.com, especially sega 16 you'll get a lot of buyers there.

So has it been decided these aren't going to be the same size as UGC  or larger to fit bigger manuals?  I'm ok either but I want to know if I should start making other covers now or wait until later when we have more exact dimensions.

Also any chance of you making white cases?

edit* man it looks like I had a stroke the first time I wrote that.

I believe that UGC covers fit fine.

That might of been a good place to post the poll.

The idea behind the poll was to find out how many people would buy said amount of which cases right? Shouldn't matter where the poll gets posted. It should have been posted there, SegaAge and Nintendo Age and other places.. It's not about being biased or unbiased. It's about giving Shadowfox an idea of where the demand is, which should be extended beyond The Cover Project so Shadowfox can make the most profit as quick as possible to move onto the next set of cases.

Of course it matters where the poll is held.
To hold the poll on Sega heavy or Nintendo heavy site would have been biased.

But I know what you meant.

I agree that there should have been links to the poll there and on other sites.
He did ask us to post links to sites that would benefit from these.
I believe e_brugal was only one who made such post on to RF Generation

So in conclusion :P

I believe someone posted a picture, but I would suggest when doing the Sega cases to do the "double" case  (fits regular genesis games at a 90 degree twist and the "big" {EA?} sports games regularly) so as to be able to fit both games in the same case mold.

NES cases are great but I would buy ~3-4x as many SNES as I would NES
