My old was canon MP190 Printer/scanner: Good: - Moire removal - Auto color correction. - Print quality. - Scanner software. - Cheap Bad: - Scanning speed - Dead zone of about 3-4mm on the edges. - When ink absorbing pad where full, no more printing, BUT NO MORE SCANNING EITHER!!!! Pads very hard to chasnge as whole scanner must be opened, and nop guarantee that it would work. - The internal death clock ? |

My current is Canon Pixma MG3550 Printer/scanner: Good: - Moire removal - Auto color correction. - Scanner software. - Quite cheap - Fast scanning - Super fast savinfg: Auto saves all files when scanner software is closed and does it instantly. - Easy to choose in which file type stuff is saved. - No deadzones in one of the scannig modes, another has 3mm ones. Bad: Installation was a bitch, print side was easy but scanning side needed additional drivers. Maybe due to that I had no CD-drive and had to get software from manufacturer's site. ----------------------------------- Haven't printed yet, so no comments on that. |

Brother MFC-J625DW Good: Wireless Great top loading document scanner Handles legal sized paper fine Cons: The scanner bed has 1"- 1 1/2" dead spot around the edges. Can not scan straight. I almost think something is physically wrong and should look at it, if I take two scans without moving the object being scanned, they are not at the same angle. Wireless networking can be flakey. I lost the ability to scan documents from the printer (Had to start them on the PC), then three weeks later it fixed itself. |
