So my wife is always joking that she is going to sell all of my games when I’m away at work…… at least I think she’s joking…… :o

Anyway, it got me to thinking, what if I had to get rid of most of my stuff.  What would I keep?  It’s a tough decision.

If you HAD to get rid of ALL of your gaming systems except for ONE, which one would you keep?  And just to keep it interesting, let’s just pretend that virtual console games and emulators didn’t exist.  ;)

I’m not going to lie, I have a really hard time deciding what I would keep.  But if I have to make a choice, I think I’m going SNES.  It has such a great library of games with solid game play and graphics and sound which have aged very well.  It also has one of my favorite controllers.  On a different day, I might have a different answer, but that is where I’m at now.

How about you guys?

***EDIT***
If you pick a system that had an add on, you can keep it.  So if you have a GameCube, you can use a Game Boy Player.  Same with any CD or 32x attachment.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Nes or Duo.  Very hard to pic for me.  After these two is PlayStation, then snes, then a ways back, genesis.

If PC is not allowed then I'll go with PS3.

You bastard. ;D

I guess it counts as long as you aren't using emulators.

You should break up Windows and Dos as two separate things.

I didn't plan to include PC, but I'm letting MaSHoe have it.

Console?  GameCube+GB Player, I suppose.

Game system altogether?  Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS.  I can't decide if I'd give up the ability to play GB/GBC titles in exchange for DS games. Hm.  Can I have a custom-made 3DS that plays GB/C/A carts as well? :D

All emulation code spontaneously erases itself off of every hard drive in existence and no one feels like coding one from scratch, then terrorists threaten to kill my family unless I get rid of all of my consoles except for one?

No hesistation.  I keep my NES.  Couple of reasons -- chief amongst them, it's my largest collection and I have the most nostalgia for it.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd be sorry to (most of) the others go -- I have a lot of nostalgia for the SNES too, the PS2 was the first system I ever bought new with my own money, the Neo Geo AES felt like the crown jewel of my collection, having a fully assembled Genesis with 32x and CD just looks awesome... but yeah, my NES is my baby.  There's a reason I have 2 frontloaders, 3 toploaders and an AV Famicom.
Attempting a complete NTSC-U NES set.  Sell me your games!

Ah, well that's easy. The Wii can play pretty much every major Nintendo game, and a decent selection of Sega titles, so...

And just to keep it interesting, let’s just pretend that virtual console games and emulators didn’t exist.  ;)
Oh.

Well...that makes this a bit harder. Probably the Gamecube, because that's the system my friends and I play the most.

I have a feeling that almost everyone's choice will be directly related to their age.

Whichever system was the primary system during their childhood will most likely be their choice. ;)

Most likely.  Although if you had left emulation around, I probably would keep my Neo Geo because... well christ, have you SEEN the thing? ;)

Definitely. I would probably coin flip for SNES or a DS to have the GBA/DS library. tough choice.
