How would an all-in-one Nintendo console benefit Nintendo? They would chop sales of games on Virtual Console in half if you could just play old game cartridges on their systems. Playing a game that you bought years ago or through ebay or at a flea market will not put money in Nintendo's pocket. Nintendo makes hardware to push software. Them creating a Retron like machine does nothing to benefit Nintendo unless they have an insane markup to offset the potential loss of sales through Virtual Console.

The days of Super Gameboy cartridges and Gameboy Players have been over ever since the advent of digital distribution. There is a reason why Playstation 3 stopped supporting backwards compatibility of PS2 games because it allowed them to sell digital copies of PS2 games on PSN. Something like the Vita TV only exists because A) the Vita is a flop B) allows them to sell Vita games to a customer that would have never bought them because the were only willing to buy a Vita and C) push Playstation Now subscriptions.

The only thing I could see possible is a DS Player from Nintendo, but seeing how the 3DS is already backwards compatible and they have already started offering some DS games on Virtual Console in Japan I highly doubt it.

One surprising thing about the Wii U that has caught me off guard is how good Nintendo first party games look. Mario Kart 8 looks better than anything I've seen on the Xbone or PS4 graphically and from an art-style perspective. Just goes to show that horsepower isn't everything.

Throughout the history of video games, the best selling system is often NOT the most powerfull.  That may not apply for this generation, but look at the last generation.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

The physical cartridge attachment was mostly a joke lol  ;) but I think an all in one console via having all games on VC would be very cool  8)

A physical cartridge all in one is a great idea. The technology is already there so there is minimal R&D cost, slapping a Nintendo logo on it would be an automatic selling point, Nintendo HAS to recognize the retro gaming niche is growing and old people that grew up playing them are the parents of kids now that are buying them XB1, PS4 and Wii U so by default there is a built in market. I'm not saying spend millions on an add campaign for a separate old school console (unless they just wanted to) but it could be included in a bundle set with Wii U or the next home console OR a club member exclusive. Either way Hyperkin and Analogue are making a fortune off of Nintendo so why shouldn't they profit from their own property?

People buy repros, nintendo could just repro some of the old games, make a system that plays them all and profit $$$$, but lately it seems like nintendo hates money....

They can repro old games and sell them in official nintendo cases that are designed to hold the cartridges and they can sell empty cases and everyone will be happy  ;D
