I'm working on building an entertainment center to house my consoles, including the ones I don't have currently, so I'm getting all of the specs for each one. I searched online all over but couldn't find the dimensions for two systems: the Neo Geo AES and the Intellivision. If anyone has those systems and wouldn't mind getting me a rough measurement I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

These are rough.  I was also generous when I took the measurements by about 1/4 inch.

AES
Width 13in
Depth 9 1/2in
Height 2 1/2in

Intellvision
Width 15 1/2in
Depth 9in
Height 2 3/4in

Love to hear about/see that when you get it done.  Some day I have vague plans of doing the same, since there is absolutely zero chance of finding a prebuilt entertainment center to house ~30ish systems ;)

I would also like to see it when it's done.  I keep talking about making one myself, but with the two month old, the time to build it just isn't there.  As long as I'm waiting, I'll take any opportunity to see other people's work and get more ideas for what I want to build.  I'm only at 20 systems right now (not counting portables since they wouldn't be included on the shelf).  But I also want to leave in room for future expansion.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

You have to take into consideration the intellivision games go in the side not the top.

Thank you for the measurements I really appreciate it!

This is an idea I've been drawing up for a long time but have never got started and I've decided to quit procrastinating finally. The basic design is that is will house 28 consoles, in compartments of 14" or 18" width. Above the consoles will be three TV's, my big HDTV, a 20" Sony PVM, and a smaller 19" HDTV for friends so we can play system link or online games together. I was inspired by Wheezy's build over at Racketboy:

It will be the same general look except mine will be a corner unit as well. I hope to have it done before the summer ends and will definitely post pictures of the final result.

Pretty nice.  My concern would be whether or not everything stays cool enought in that amount of space.  The HD TVs and modern disc based systems would be my biggest concern.  Still though, it give me more ideas.   ;D

You have to take into consideration the intellivision games go in the side not the top.

And to add to this, a few consoles have plugs on the side too, like nes and turbo duos, but sounds like you may already have these. The duo looks flipping stupid with a huge ass-plug sticking out the side in a case made to it's exact size.

... not 100% what my ass plug was doing there anyways, but oh well, guess I best stop playing videogames drunk....  ;)

I'm leaving my intellevision out of the shelves for my rig, I want a table down there infront of the couch\futon I don't own, so I'll put it there, since the controllers are so small, and I'm not a fan of modifying consoles if you can't set it back the way it was.  same with C64, odyssey 2, and if I ever get one, amiga, since these all have keyboards you use a lot.  The Atari 2600s I'll just make sure to have lots of extra length on the power and RF cords, to move if needed, depending on the game.

That is one mod I was thinking about doing, remote switches for an Atari.  And since I have one with a busted case and a hole in the side, I don't feel bad about destroying a classic machine.

Yeah my setup, when I get around to making it, will have a sort of stool/table for the system that's being played at the time.  Saves me the issue of trying to plug them all in at once with switches and power strips both having to be daisy-chained and such.  Plus takes into account systems like the Odyssey^2 with its keyboard, the Intellivision with the side-loading games, the Colecovision with its controller cords that are about 6 inches long, the death star Genesis that's about 3 feet tall when all assembled, etc etc etc.

If I get really clever, I might try to find a way to have the RCA jacks and power built right into the stool/table, but that'll make it a pretty permanent fixture wherever I put it, so we'll see if that happens.

Then again, I'm pretty lazy.  We'll see if my mythical setup ever happens at all :P
