kingjohn3:
Does anyone know anything about the SNES mini's I'm seeing on ebay that are modded for S-Video and RGB output? I think I would rather have this than an emulator or Analougue NT

Buy an SNES SCart cable and then buy a converter for the best possible picture.

SNES had RGB and S-Video output.  In the redesign, Nintendo for whatever reason decided not to connect the pins on their A/V multi out that power those 2 video formats, but they're still being output by the encoder in the machine.  The "mod" is a fairly trivial mod to reconnect the pins and thus make it possible to use the normal Nintendo cables, nothing complicated like adding RGB to the NES.

So if i have an s-video cable for my original release snes, thats possibly as good as it gets, right? Considering the original has better sound output. The svideo cable i have is a Monster and there is no "screen door" look to it.
