Microsoft seems to really want to soften their images.

With our friends at Sony and Nintendo...

Also Getting rid of Kinect was shown quietly at bacground at time 0:02:14:
Before that the set-up shown was Console, controller and Kinect camera, but at this point the image is zoomed in such way that the Kinect camera is cropped off, and so it stays the rest of the show.

Never cared about Halo games, but the Halo Master Chief Edition looks nice.

Then there was Assasin's Creed Unity.
Let's see how they implement the multiplayer (either co-op or versus).
I see 4 possibilities:
1: 4 player only possible at certain events.
2: 4 players play thru the game always staying close together.
3: 4 players staying with in the map area but can be quite far away from each other.
4: 4 players can be where ever they want in the world and come together when and if they want either to play together or against each other.

Hoping for the last with possibility to do this on 4 consoles in local LAN (that is without Live).

Will it be so that the 4 players stay

They announced Phantom Dust and thats all that really matters to me. In an interview with Phil Spencer it was even acknowledged that its not going to be a free to play game thus alleviating my fears. Once they start showing gameplay I'll probably get an xbox.

Outside of the Scalebound announcement and Sunset Overdrive gameplay, nothing really interested me for Xbox. Too many timed exclusive games and not enough real exclusives that would get me to buy a Xbone. Master Chief Collection is an awesome deal but I would much rather have them on PC, in fact if Microsoft wants any of my business, they need to look at publishing some of their exclusives on PC to capture an audience that is not willing to buy an Xbone. Highly unlikely, but Dead Rising 3 and Project Spark are going to be available on PC soon so hopefully they follow suit with other exclusives.

What I don't get from Microsoft is all these new commercials where they are showing off the power of the kinect and then at the end they advertise the $399 bundle without the kinect. Just doesn't make sense.....

I didn't watch too much of the Microsoft E3, but from what I gathered I'm still not moved enough to get an Xbox One. Sunset Overdrive looked fun, Halo 2 Anniversary looked well-done, but when I saw the trailer for the Halo 5 multiplayer beta my heart just kind of sank. The art direction in that series is going downhill fast.

My guess is half of these commercials (especially the one with Jesse) were probably in production for a while.  Then Microsoft got smart and ditched the Kinect, making the system more affordable and hopefully the games better (now that developers can access more of the GPU).  Still, they still WANT you to buy the Kinect bundle, but they have conceded that some people just won't pay that price point.

They also say "starting at $399," it is no different that car manufacturers advertising luxury features in their commercials when they aren't available in the bare bones model. I agree that it is misleading though.

The funniest ad that I saw from Microsoft came during the whole "Resolutiongate" fiasco. I believe it was Phil Spencer that came out in an interview and said something to the tune of that resolution and framerate don't matter and that Xbox One has the power of the cloud and Kinect, but later an ad for Forza 5 came out that was advertising 1080p and 60 fps as a feature. I just thought to myself "Sure thing, Phil. It is totally not important."

To be honest, anyone who has to advertise 1080p as a highlight is selling a sub par product.  This is 2014.  1080p has been around for years.  1080p should be the STANDARD right now, not the exception.  I'm an Xbox guy, so I am happy to see some games starting to go that route, but even the PS4 feels lack luster.  Overall I am totally dissatisfied with the current generation.  Not a single MUST HAVE exclusive to any new console (not counting Wii U)

The fact that they dropped the Krapnect AFTER stating that it was virtually impossible to do so is just one more reason for me to avoid it.  Lies. Lots of lies.

Yes, but all companies do that.  Sony originally had DRM, and like the Xbox One, would not let used games exist...that is until it was leaked that Microsoft was doing this.  Then Sony quickly modded this and came out against it.  All video game companies are out for themselves.  None of them care about us.  If the masses had accepted digital downloads and DRM, then everybody would be doing it.  I don't care if people like Xbox, Playstation, CD-i, whatever.  But eventually every company does shit people won't like.  Sad thing is it usually comes to be universally accepted a generation later.

That said, the Kinect is dead.  Let us rejoice and be glad.
