Nintendo can smd :( Only on the premise that Dragon Quest 7 - still - hasn't been ported to the 3DS. I'm so sad.

In all seriousness, that's a fairly sweet line up by them.

Out of the games announced these interest me most:

Hyrule Warriors
- I'm not that big fan of Dynasty Warriors but this might be fun.

Zelda U
- Duh of course.
- That trailer made me fear it will be lot of tube running and QTEs.
- Graphics are nice enough.

New Yoshi
- Would prefer NSMBU style graphics.
- Hopefully is Yoshi's Island style game instead of Yoshi's Story style .

Mario Maker
- Hopefully they upgrade the engine from SMB (the original NES one that it currently seems to be = no up/down scrolling or hills) to atleast to Yoshi's Island engine.
- Add SMW and Yohi's Island skins and Yoshi's Island Red Coin/Star/Flower collecting

Splatoon & Smash Bros
- Great to be played when wasted, otherwise not my cup of tee.

I'm skeptical I think, but I wish them the best of luck. At least we're finally getting enough of a game catalog; to the point where I actually feel like the console purchase was worth it. I still only have Monster Hunter 3 and Nintendoland. My daughter is getting to the age where I can start picking up some of the Mario titles for us to play together, so that's a plus. I couldn't find much on the new Zelda, but what I did see them claim sounds promising, if it's not as Arseen fears. (I'm with you there) Smash is a definite purchase for me, and that Yoshi game looks pretty neat too.

I couldn't find anything on the Final Fantasy Explorers, (admittedly didn't try very hard) but I don't own a 3DS yet.

I'm a bit sad that they didn't announce a new Metroid....

Well in Xenoblade Chronicles X you can play in Samus Costume (and Link).
Isn't that the same? :P

Smash Bros, absolutely.

New Kirby and Mario Maker are high interests for me too.

Star Fox and Zelda, perhaps.

The rest I just can't get interested in. Amiibo has a neat idea(leveling up) but is gimmicky.

I didn't watch E3 nor do I really care to watch a bunch of people trying to swing thier dicks around talking about how "good" thier consoles and games are.

But by the list you gave, I'm sorry but it's lacking.

Zelda hmm ok. I may buy that but everything else I don't see as a super awesome hit.

Pokemon X and Y were great games but come on... Remakes of older pokemon games is just a joke.
If they really wanted to grab people's attention they would make an open world action RPG pokemon game. Like pokemon mixed with skyrim or something.

Everything else is just mediocre at best.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

I was pretty impressed with Nintendo this year. Not with everything but a lot more than last year.

Hyrule Warriors is a big one for me. I'm a huge Zelda fan so this is a must for me, but I also enjoyed a lot of Dynasty Warriors back in the PS2 days and haven't played one in years. So this will be perfect for me as I got to enjoy that Dynasty Warriors craziness, but now all dressed up in a Zelda theme. I was pretty impressed with what they showed off. And the idea of the new Zelda title, I'm really excited to see how this seamless open world shapes out. I knew the Zelda franchise would do this sooner or later. If done right, Zelda has a lot of potential to become Nintendo's most ambitious series both visually and game mechanics wise.

Splatoon also looked like a lot of fun to play and I'd definitely be interested in something like this as there isn't a whole lot of online multiplayer to go around on the Wii U. Especially in the 3rd person shooter genre.

Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U is a bit of a different story for me right now. For a lot of you casual "Smashers", this game is looking absolutely amazing (and you'd be absolutely right!). But as someone who plays Melee and the Project M mod for Brawl fairly competitively, I'm a little disappointed. Even the competitors they had in the Invitational Tournament were not totally impressed. Most of this lies within the physics of the game that take away from a lot of the really competitive aspects of Melee that Nintendo damn well knows is what makes it so popular in the tournament scene today (and if your not aware, the popularity of the tournament scene for Melee is fucking HUUUUGE!). The lack of things like Wave Dashing, L-Canceling, and Edge Guarding are going to put a serious damper in the overall experience for a lot of serious players and could end up just being an upgrade of the very much less favoured Brawl.

Don't get me wrong, Nintendo did do a lot of good thing with this new Smash and I'm sure the game will still be a lot of fun to pick up and play with friends. I'll still get it myself. But considering they went all-out, created the Game Cube adapter w/controllers, plus put on the Invitational Tournament inviting some of the best tournament Smash players in the world and finally acknowledge the very very VERY popular competitive smash scene, it was a little disappointing to see them pay so little attention to the aspect and physics of Melee that make it so popular in the first place. This game could have easily been done to accommodate both Casual and Competitive gamers without any sacrifice.

We need a new 2D Metroid game that isn't for a portable system.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'll be honest, I am not interested in 80% of the stuff Nintendo announced.

That said, they offered the one thing that Microsoft and Sony were heavily lacking - must have 1st party exclusives.
Everybody had a few, but Nintendo was focused on them and really delivered.

Therefore I agree with thread's premise completely.
