I think you're under valuing a lot of "everyday" games.  Any cartridge title in the Zelda, Metroid or Mario Franchise (post NES era) easily commands $20-$50 each.  Then the pokemon titles, Mega Man games, etc.  10 common games may be equivalent to  around $100, or it may be around $500. 

I wasm't meaning to say common games were under $10, I meant it as "let's pretend 90% of his games were games that sell for under $10".  While you could lower it a lot more and say $5 for most low end common nes carts, most of his stuff has cases from my understanding.

I know he said up front that it would be shipped out over a span of time. I really couldn't see someone wanting to pay and have that whole lot shipped, since the cost would well be above and beyond the selling price.

It's just bad all around. Both sides of this argument aren't doing anything to help their image, and there's at least one outsider who has been stirring the pot. (I get his point, but really, there's no need to drag it out longer like they have)

I've got a few friends who've gone through his catalog of games, and the $90-100k value isn't far off. The commons and filler he has wouldn't even average $10 each, even if they're in pristine condition. You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd. I think $200k is generous, and what a realistic ending figure should have been.

When you're talking about what each title goes for individually, (SMB3, Zelda, etc.) you're talking retail prices, and that can't be considered when taking on a huge lot like this. (that goes for any situation, really, if anyone is attempting a sale) Top-Dollar prices like that just aren't realistic in cases like these.

Not necessarily.  Price charter doesn't do retail, it does what it is selling for on average through sites like eBay and half.  Those aren't retail, at least not in the same sense as a game store is.  Although you would need to discount for large volume, but how much depends on the set.  But if he has listed every item and people have gone through and itemized it, then I concede to the math.  But say what you will about "internet" fame, having your name in a history book (I would think) has to trump that.

I think we're all just saying pretty much the same thing.  I think 90k is too low though, unless I'm wrong about most of his items being complete, cause even complete polished turds are worth SLIGHTLY more than incomplete turds (Hey, this one has no corn in it!)  I doubt the average value of his games are $8.18, and that's what 90k would be. 

And considering what website he owns, there's got to be a bunch of the "new" releases\homebrews.  And the market value for them are way higher than they should be.
