Game collection tracker

Jeff:
I use the Backloggery. I'm not a collector, I just hate getting rid of my games. Also, I fully intend on beating all of my games so having colorful icons, bars and numbers in my face tends to keep me motivated.

If there were enough of a demand, I could probably build something. I'll fire off an email to Price Charting about possible data-basing schemes and see what they offer for data pulling.

My current process is just a Google Docs sheet that I use based on Price Charting for the systems I'm interested in.

Excel with a vlookup function would do the trick.

I can set this up pretty quick.  I'll try over the next few days and see if I can get it working

I highly doubt he'll allow SQL calls over the internet.  I know game collector does pull values from there, but think over pure http; I don't have anything that can do wireshark of that at the moment, kind of inbetween network setups right now.  Not sure if they have an API for it, or what.  But since most of their good stuff is subscription based, I doubt it's free, so you'd almost have to scrape the website.

Also if you didn't know, pricecharting is also owned by same guy who owns jj games.
Lashek:
Yeah, I get that. They do offer an API though that feeds JSON calls based on the "Price Guide" link at the top. Cost doesn't specify if it's a per-download transaction, monthly/yearly subscription expense, etc.

It isn't hard to automate pulling straight from their site, but I'd rather avoid doing this if they are reasonable.
