I could always try the roms out on my Master Everdrive and see if they boot?  I know booting on a flash drive doesn't necessarily guarantee booting on a dedicated cart in theory, but it's more likely to line up than emulator booting is.

I thought that putting the sms bios in front of the sg1000 rom wont work on hardware with 100% rate, some will load, some wont, and colors will be messed up sometimes, but damned if I can find any info on it.  I thought Chris Covell (Well known nes programmer) converted some sg-1000s to SMS, but all I see are GG to SMS conversions, and he released the IPS patches for them too: http://www.chrismcovell.com/segahacking/gg2sms.html

I know game gear games have that issue but sg-1000 is backwards compatible on the Japanese master system (I have Japanese sms not mark 3) so porting to sms should be easy enough, the admins at smspower reckon its as easy as putting a bio in the front. but I cant test till I get windows xp working lol

Fantastic news!  Well done.

I wonder what the retron 5 would make of them? Lol.

Don't really care much for the retron 5. Just doesn't seem to be many favourable reviews for it.

I need to get new pcbs made for the sms, anyone had experience with this? or have a design that can be taken to a pcb manufacturer?

So its winter here so ive been lazy, but ive got the cartridges fully finished of Golgo 13 and Gulkave converted for the master system, ive burned 16 other games onto eproms and made labels for them, the only thing now is desoldering the eproms from sms games and putting the new chips on, and finish the covers, so should be able to add about 20 new sms games to the collection :D.

Nice.  Shame the sg1000 port of bomb jack was a bit weak, I love that game.  And of course star force....a classic.

Damn dude, nice work!  You ever find a place to make new PCBs or did you end up having to sac games?

Followup question, you gonna be selling these?  ;)

I got bout 90 spare carts, so ive been sacking games for my own personal collection, not worth making unless you got decent pre orders behind it.

Yeah I didn't think it would be, honestly.  When you have to sac games it gets expensive, and while PCBs are getting cheap from HK or China, they're still expensive unless it's in bulk, and this can't be a particularly big demand project.

Regardless, nicely done man!

Its been a while since ive posted on here, ive made over 40 sg-1000 to sms games now, been working on covers, went into a different direction to make them different to my sms games, currently working on manuals to go with my games. Ive been printing my covers on photo paper, and god they are so nice compared to basic paper, anyway heres a preview, I know some people wont like the blue or small grid, but I do :)
