Wanna see a neat trick?

Bye bye!

I could explain the science, but just go buy a couple of these little bastards, seriously.  Takes like 10 seconds and you can carry them in your pocket.  Hell, clean the carts while you're still walking around in goodwill looking for an ugly-ass tie for that wedding you have to attend next weekend ;)

Get them here

^^^ Yes, and this.

http://www.amazon.com/Chartpak-Ad-Markers-Colorless-Blender/dp/B0026HC7GU/ref=sr_1_1?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1400557618&sr=1-1&keywords=chartpak+blender

The AD/Chartpak blender is a lot more useful (The Prismacolor markers are alcohol-based, AD markers use emulsifiers which are far more similar to those in most other markers).  I'd seriously get both.  Start with one, and if it isn't doing the job, switch to the other ;)

edit: Links added to 1st post.  Also check local art supply stores.  They aren't tough to find. :)

Do they work for markings on cart labels as well or no?

I haven't tried.  I use this product for that.

It's proven to be quite effective and it's very gentle on the labels.  Hell, I think I made a video comparison a while back.  Lemme see if I can find it...

found it

I have been using Bestine for awhile now since you originally recommended it, great stuff. Was just curious if these blender pens would work as well, firgured they wouldn't but wasn't sure.

Thanks for the share, going to Michael's tomorrow to see if they have these blender markers.

No prob!

I think Michael's does, but I'm not sure.  I'll give the blender a try on a shitty old label sometime soon here.  I've got hundreds of spent shells at work, and some of them are bound to have some old marker on them.  I'll let you know what the results are :)

Actually, looks like I have one right here that I'm not too scared to experiment on.

Worked well. The little spots you see are small tears in the label where the emulsifier have seeped through a bit. The mark goes away when it evaporates.  There are obviously still some remnants of the marker, but nothing is going to take out the stain that's been left. It's just too deep to lift out.

Anyway, looks like it's effective and safe on labels so far :)

Only thing I've had Bestine affect that it shouldn't is Atari 5200 labels, but everything I've tried seems to make them bleed, even dry rubbing of a paper towel. There's no cover to the labels, paint's just exposed to the world.

How exactly does such a blender work?

does he remove the other ink or cover it?
2 + 3 = 23

it's kinda like the chemical they use to make dry erase markers, so you use it, the marker's ink no longer sticks.  If it's not sucked into what you wrote on, it comes right off.  You can use dry erase markers for about the same thing.

If you look close at where he did it, it *LOOKS* like it removed a bit of texture and it's kind of duller in a circle area.  That's clean off though when you clean the cart.
