So I made a new thread for this, so the idea is, my sg-1000 games are either cart only or the boxes are ratty as. So ive been playing around with making a template for a new gatefold style cardboard box to replace my old ones, its been a bit of trial and error, with now the biggest problem being finding a printing place who can print them as the size would need to be on an A2 size piece of cardboard to fit. I talked to one local printing/office supply chain but they don't print on thick enough card for my needs. Which means ill have to look round more. I was thinking of printing them and putting them inside of video game box protectors (the sg-1000 large size) and maybe even making them for my mark 3 games.

I live in new Zealand so I cant just put them in ugc's and wide dvd cases just don't hold games properly.

So while at the office supply store I got some black card to make a final prototype gatefold which im feeling is the right size, the cartridge fits perfectly, just need to make sure the locking tab works. Heres a pic of what I made today.

Only thing that really concerns me is the places that wont print with copyright logos etc on them.

I don't know what it's like down under, but around here while SOME of the larger chain stores may have a problem printing "Copyrighted material", smaller mom-and-pop type print stores generally don't care, and in the rare cases they DO care it's even LESS likely that they're going to care about artwork that's from 20+ year old games.

Good luck with your quest.

I went to Office Max once to get covers printed, the lady looked at me and said you have all copywright material here i'm not supposed to print it, and i calmly replied I understand but i'm collecting these games and i showed her one that I had done myself, so she said okay she'll do it just this once and printed them for me, even tho I had dupes of a couple games it wasn't an issue.

but your mileage may vary depending on locations. good luck!

Not only by location, but by person.  You can go back to the exact same location, talk to a different person, and get a completely different answer.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."
