I just purchased an HP OfficeJe Pro X476DW printer at Staples. It was half off the normal $700 price tag. Apparently this printer is faster and cheaper per print then my expensive laser printer. Plus, since its an inkjet the prints should look a lot nicer.

I have 14 days to make sure I like it, or its going back. I'll post some pics once I print off some covers.

I use an old ass Epson Photo Stylus R200. I love it. Too bad ink is getting harder to find. I might be looking for a new printer before too long.

For printing no such big deal, but for scanning even cheapest Canon seems to do the Moire-removal (aka descreen or derasterization) the best.

I love my cheapo Cannon 110 scanner. ;D

So far i have mixed results with the new printer.

Unfortunately the HP software wont let me set Tray 1 (manual feed) to legal size and Cardstock. its says there is a conflict so i have to use the next lowest setting of paper thickness. Plus when i did some test prints the pages "stuck" to the output tray and smudged the prints. However, I think that is due to the paper I am using. I am using legal gloss paper but I don't think its Ink Jet paper. I need to try and find some other paper but no one locally sells Legal Size Ink Jet paper.

However, the letter size prints are fast and beautiful.

I think I'm going to get some ColorLok legal paper. Some came with the printer and those prints, even though they were on plain 20lb paper look great. I am also going to get some paper samples from my paper supplier and experiment.

I am amazed at how fast the print comes out once the paper feeds. Its actually faster then my laser. Amazing.

I've been using a Canon Pixma ip7220 that I picked up off of amazon on sale.  I've used it to the point where some of the packaged ink is starting to run out.  I love the results the thing gives.

Ok so i have settled on the Epson Artisan 1430 with a CISS installed. The results are great. I especially like the BLACK. I attached some pics.
