Also wanted to register it tonight so I can get my free game but I think Nintendo's servers must've blown up due to traffic or something cause I can't even sign on

yep i walked into my local gamestore  for mario kart and saw it and bought it   
also the vga cable is for my dreamcast

Picked up Mario Kart 8 myself today. Forgot about the free game offer. Not feeling so motivated to register my points just yet as I'm already at platinum, plus the reset is coming up soon. And go figure I already own physical copies of 3 out of the 4 games their offering anyway.

I was thinking the exact same thing.  I thought about grabbing it, not really wanting it, just wanting to play it, but I can definitely wait now.  Not that an easily replaceable case would stop me from buying it, but it is a real turn off.

Picked up an original SNES controller at a flea market for 5€ today.

Found a nice V-Motion console with 7 games, two controllers and USB stick.
You guessed it, it's not for me! Still, I wouldn't be surprised some of these games beats the worst NES games.
I'm not sure, but it might be the only console with wireless motion controllers + old school cartridges. Good first console for kids
A bonus, you store the games in the console back tray.
