New Custom Spines Thread

TyrannicalFascist:
With ShadowFox's Game Boy/Color/Advance custom cases coming soon, I'm finally making the switch to DS-width cases. Before I'd used EU cases and then 3DS cases, since both didn't require any modification to hold games. Because of that my custom spines have tended to focus on those case widths. Well, it's time to conform! Since the old custom spanning spine thread keeps getting buried, I felt that it's time to start a brand new thread for all different kinds of custom spines. This won't just be for my own creations, but for anyone to share what they've made. If you want to browse through the old thread, here it is: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=935.0

All of my spine headers come from Larryinc64's DS template. The biggest series I've been working on is a series of spines that feature a specific character for each game. I started with Mario games, and then it spiraled out of control! I tried to use each character only once, but had to make exceptions. I also tried to have the background color match the box art, but again, there are a few exceptions.

Main Mario Series

Classic NES Mario-related Games (includes SMB2 The Lost Levels and Mario Bros. from Famicom Mini series)

Mario Spin-offs

Game & Watch Gallery Series and Mario Golf & Tennis

Mario Puzzle Games

Wario Land Series (GB version of WLII included) and Wario Spin-offs

Game Boy Advance Video - Pokémon and Sonic X Volumes

Metroid Games

Mega Man Games (updated from my original version)

Banjo-Kazooie & Conker Games and some misc. games I made custom spines for.

I'm working on a Donkey Kong Country/Land/DK King of Swing set, and I have plans for several other similar series. I'll also be working on converting many of my 3DS spines to DS-width and updating my older DS spine sets.

Pretty awesome.  I see they're literally just the spines -- do you just print them out and then position them manually on top of other art, or do you generally past the spines onto the other artwork in photoshop or whatever before printing?

Here are some more spines I've created, starting to cover some of the movie-based games on GB/C/A. I tried to scale the character art to match my Star Wars spines.

Movies: Batman Begins, Superman Returns, the 2 Pirates of the Caribbean games, and the 3 Lord of the Rings movie games.

EDIT: And here are my updated Star Wars spines.

Episodes I-VI (option for Episode I: Obi-Wan's Adventures as "Episode I"). Alternate versions for the Original Trilogy with either the Classic Logos (left) or the THX VHS/Special Edition Logos (right).

Spin-off games. Episode I Racer double spine options for Characters (left) or Podracers (right). I may revise this game's spine(s) when ShadowFox releases his larger GB cases if the dimensions are different.
