How good are video game box protectors

Ok made one with a wider front, might try to print it out in pieces and glue it to cardboard to see if it all fits together, copy pasted one of my sg-1000 games to see how it will look

oh the grey ones are just the glue tabs. and the white slit on the right is for the manuals to slide into

ok printed out template, pasted to cardboard and folder it up, bit tight, the door doesn't close well, need a tab to help it close, if it was professionally done it would be fine, spine ends up being 30mm wide, I tried different games in the sg-1000 slot,

If you do end up making gatefold boxes like that with a recessed part for carts, do share that template. I'd bet people would love something like that. (I'm one of them)

ive tried printing them out the problem is the width of the unfolded boxes are over 60cm wide, which would need to be printed on A2+ sized cardboard. which might end up getting expensive if done at a printing shop. more tempting to do them in the style of the genesis boxes but in black

I prefer to stay away from paper/cardboard boxes at all costs... Problems that are happening with paper boxes now with happen to your current ones in a few years.
NES: Still undecided, maybe bitbox
SNES: Still undecided, maybe UGC the only problem I have is manuals fitting inside
N64: Prime N64 plastic cases with labeled spine and book front inside

If anyone has suggestions for NES/SNES please let me know. Must be plastic and very durable.

if your out of the usa, and cant get ugcs for a large price, wide dvd cases are your only option and they just don't look right aye
im more of a collector of retro games from my childhood than a player of them, so its more having the best looking thing on my shelf, new sexy boxes rather than old saggy ones
