SNES - American Gladiators

For the first year we had the SNES we only had two games,  this and SMW. No one else may like it but I played it so much I have it mastered. Love it!

I remember the TV show. I watched it when it first aired. Interesting show.
I've never played the game. I'll have to track it down.

Guilty Pleasure games, huh? I don't know if these are considered terrible games, but here's some that come to mind.

Sonic R - always thought it looked cool in stores, but never had a Saturn. I got it for PC years later in a Sonic bundle, and despite everything wrong with it, I think I really just enjoy the atmosphere and laid back feel that reminds me of the late 90's. It also kind of marks the end of an era to me - one of the final classic Sonic games. Plus I was hell-bent on unlocking everything.

Star Fox Adventures - Yeah, it would have been better as "Dinosaur Planet", rather than shoehorning in Star Fox, but I really liked this one. Again, the music, the atmosphere, the adventure. My only real gripe is once you beat the final boss, it doesn't allow you to return to the planet and get things you missed, so you have to start a new file.

I can't believe I forgot Jurassic Park for SNES. I loved that game back in the day and I still love it today. The only hard part is finding 3 or 4 hours if free time to play thorough it.  The ending sucks, but the gameplay is awesome.

I remember the playboy issue.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.  Especially at the time, we were RPG starved, and it was a budget title.  I bought it and Soul Blazer same day, FFMQ was like $20 less.  And while it wasn't an advanced RPG, how many RPGs did we have at the time in the US?

Werewolf, nes.  I think the biggest complaint most people have is "the jump and attack are backwards", but I've never felt that was a valid excuse. I've never felt like the vast majority of games were one way or the other.

Some people might get mad at this:
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
Not terrible, but not that good, but very fun.

I probably have a bigger list, but I'm sleepy, Me and my friend Matt played a lot of games for my Lets Play channel Power Plaid, and quite a few were bad but we still had fun.
Shamu Deep Sea Adventures Castle Quest, Karate champ, and GunGriffon blaze come to mind.

I am a big Transformers fan (real big surprise, eh?) and most of the Transformers games on the various consoles I enjoy.  There are one or two that I'm not thrilled with, but there was one on the famicom...
Transformers:  The Mystery of Convoy (Optimus Prime)

This game is a hard sell.  I found it back in early 2003 when I first got my famicom.  It isn't for everyone, and it is really hard...but  no where near as hard as AVGN may have suggested.  It's frustrating, but with 20 minutes of practice, you can figure out how to clear levels with some basic skills.  Still hard as balls, but with patience you can probably beat it in an hour or two.  Case in point, once level one starts, just keeping running and spamming the trigger button.  Never stop running, never stop shooting and only jump to clear the tanks.  You won't get hit.  Bosses are pretty weak as well.

I am fully aware, however, how much this game really does suck.  But I still enjoy playing it.

Back in my early internet years before I had money to spend on games, I used to download a lot of free indie games. Oh, not games like Cave Story, I mean things on yoyogames that were made by kids with the free version of game maker. I can't think of specifics, but the entire game would be one huge bug, but I found it fun to mangle through it. Like, the bugs are unwritten rules that you have to figure out for yourself and play around. I believe some could actually help create ideas for a more polished game.

Yeah...I actually bought a Japanese PS2 just so I could play this...luckily there are some really great Japanese games that made it worth while.  but this game...yeah, this is one of the ones I'm happy I own, but will probably never touch again.
