The Story of Fouinox
noemann:
My Fiancee noticed that certain ebay sellers must be buying from flea markets, then selling on ebay. The sellers are obviously not video game collectors because my Fiancee found an entry for Equinox entitled Fouinox LOL I searched ebay for Fouinox and voila! I found Equinox. I can't stop laughing. I've never seen this before. Anyone else notice Fouinox or any other odd entries?

Best way to make a killing used to be looking for typos for TurboGrafx-16, since it's always a high-value system to collect for. It's not as good as it used to be however, since ebay now has categories for the systems.

a typo is normal: gsmr for game, since the letters are close together on a qwerty keyboard. But a complete lack of knowledge is a whole other issue. Obviously, the seller does not know that the name of the game is Equinox. I can see why it could happen due to the artistic lettering. However, the example that I have found on ebay is being sold by a video game store owner. What? you sell video games but do not even know the appropriate titles? unbelievable yet funny. :)
You have a good point Ozzy_98: I will search for typos and odd interpretations. maybe I will get lucky and find a rare game for a good price ;D
By the way, I must be completely honest: I have never heard of TurboGrafx games until 1998. I started researching games online and stumbled across TurboGrafx articles on gaming websites. I still have limited knowledge of these games. I'm a moderate gamer. I'm now a member of the 40 something club, so i'm not a novice but I do not remember hearing this name when I was growing up. I didn't even know what Neo-Geo was until I started researching video games. Interesting.

Look for aladdin deck enhancer games, you find all sorts of games mislabeled. Deck enhancer games were much smaller than standard nes carts, but people see metallic carts, think it's something rare.

I once found a really good deal in a R.O.B. for the NES. The seller was inexperienced and titled the auction “R.O.B. Robot Operating Buddy.” This is absolutely correct. However, his mistake was that most people don’t enter the periods when they search for R.O.B. I was watching three different auctions for R.O.B. at the same time. Two of the auctions included both “R.O.B.” and “ROB” in the auction title. However, the third auction was missing the “ROB” (without the periods). Therefore, only someone as OCD as myself would even find the auction. While the other two auctions ended around $120 with multiple bidders, I won mine for less than $50. That was the starting price and I was the only bidder. For the record, all three were fully functional R.O.B.s with complete Gyromite parts. I was so happy with my purchase, I actually think that Gyromite is a really fun game.
I hope everyone can follow all of that.......... :P
